Tom Cruise Not Proposing To ‘Mission Impossible’ Assistant, Not Even Dating Her Reps Claim

Despite rumors to the contrary, it appears as though Tom Cruise is still a single man. Although news recently surfaced that the actor was dating an assistant on the set of his upcoming Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation film, and inside source has told People that the rumors are unfounded.

The source, who is close to Cruise’s new movie Mena, stated that the rumors of Cruise and the assistant, named Emily Thomas, being engaged were “utterly made up and ridiculous. They’re not getting married, they’re not even dating,” the source explained. “Nothing is going on. It’s completely professional.”

Coincidentally, Thomas bears a close resemblance to Tom Cruise’s ex-wife, Katie Holmes (which is likely one reason why the rumors began). However, Thomas is currently dating Alex Roberts. Roberts is the director of carpentry firm in the U.K., making a relationship with Cruise even less likely. Furthermore, Thomas recently changed her Facebook profile image to reflect her relationship with Roberts.

Interestingly, Roberts visited Thomas while on the set of the new Mission: Impossible film and even posted a photo from of Cruise as he prepared for an aerial stunt in the new movie. The stunt is a rather dramatic one and includes Cruise hanging onto a plane as it takes off.

“The morning came and I’m strapped onto the side of that airplane and I’ll never forget, I kept telling the pilot, I said, ‘Listen, man. When you’re climbing out you’ve got to make sure because I want my feet against the fuselage. I want that steep climb,'” Cruise explained to Entertainment Tonight about the scene. “With an airplane, you got to really know the weight, the balance, the numbers,” he added.

Meanwhile, Cruise, who has been involved in three marriages, including Holmes, Nicole Kidman, and Mimi Rodgers, appears to be focusing more on his career than his relationships. In fact, in addition to Mena and Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, the actor is also preparing for the highly anticipated Top Gun 2.

In an interview with Reuters, Tom Cruise talked about how much he has wanted to film the sequel to the hit classic, Top Gun, and get back to flying a jet. “It would be fun. I would like to get back into those jets,” Cruise stated in the interview. “It would have to be practical. I don’t want any CGI jets. I want to shoot it like how we shot the first one.”
