‘Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare – Reckoning’ DLC Heads Undersea In Final Exo Zombies Episode

Activision announced the fourth and final DLC pack for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare on Monday. The Reckoning pack brings a conclusion to the Exo Zombies adventure starring Bill Paxton, Bruce Campbell, and others while delivering four all-new maps to the PlayStation, Xbox, and PC shooter.

As per usual with Call of Duty, Reckoning will be released first to Xbox LIVE for the Xbox One and Xbox 360. That will happen on August 4. It will then hit the PlayStation Network and PC approximately one month later. The DLC pack costs $14.99 by itself, or it may be downloaded as part of the $49.99 Season Pass.

Advanced Warfare will be the last game in the Call of Duty franchise to have exclusive timed DLC for Xbox LIVE first. As previously covered, Sony and Activision struck a deal so that PlayStation consoles get the DLC first starting with Black Ops III. There’s also a beta coming in August that PS4 owners get first shot at.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Fracture - Exo Zombies (PlayStation, Xbox)

Descent, the final EXO Zombies episode included with Advanced Warfare: Reckoning, takes the co-op zombie survival mode under the ocean to a secret Atlas facility. Bill Paxton, Rose McGowan, Jon Bernthal, and Bruce Campbell all return, along with a now-undead John Malkovich.

This episode introduces “fused” exo zombies enemies, along with the Trident Reflected Energy Weapon. It sends a beam of energy bouncing around a room like a crazy super ball to kill enemies.

The four new maps included in the Reckoning DLC for Call of Duty continue the theme of unique locales and gimmicks for each. For example, “Fracture” takes place on a glacier that falls apart during a timed event, while “Swarm” gives you control over a drone swarm to attack enemies with. Meanwhile, “Quarantine” takes place under the shadow of the Statue of Liberty, and Overload features giant plasma lamps that can be shot to cause damage to others.

Check out the official description of each of the new maps below.

Overload: Enjoy the grand view of downtown New Baghdad from this exotic compound, complete with fountains, gardens and decorative plasma lamps. The map’s multiple levels and long perimeter site-lines highlight medium to long-range combat, and firing a shot at the lamps will send enemies flying in a burst of energy.

Quarantine: Following a deadly viral outbreak, the island has been converted into a biological testing center. This medium sized map’s tight corners dial up the speed and open areas combine to allow for any style of gameplay. Activate the map-based scorestreak to unleash a devastating ship-fired missile strike.

Fracture: Discover what secrets are locked in the ice in this arctic excavation site. Take refuge behind wind turbines and heavy equipment through large combat areas cradled on the shelf of a glacier. Stay alert as the timed event cracks the ice sheet, sending one lane sinking to the depths.

Swarm: Reconstruction is underway in Seoul, South Korea, congesting narrow corridors of this small to medium sized map with vehicles and equipment. Take position in war-scarred storefronts that provide plenty of cover over the streets or flank the enemy through close quarter interiors in the center of the map.

“We’ve had an absolute blast supporting the fans throughout the DLC season, and continue to come up with fun new ways to play Advanced Warfare. The support and feedback we’ve received from the community continues to inspire us, and we’ve taken that inspiration to heart with Reckoning to deliver a new set of multiplayer maps and the conclusion to Exo Zombies. We are grateful to all of our fans and hope everyone enjoys playing the new content as much as we enjoyed creating it,” said Michael Condrey, Co-Founder and Studio Head, Sledgehammer Games.
