WWE News: ‘Arrow’ Star Stephen Amell Set For ‘WWE RAW’ Appearance Very Soon
Arrow star Stephen Amell is a big pro-wrestling fan and has been for a long time. He let his status as a fan be known when he mentioned he was a WWE fan on Facebook a while back. He then appeared on WWE RAW in a tiny segment while in the audience at a Brooklyn, New York WWE RAW taping. He was in the area to film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2. He plays Casey Jones in the movie, which will be hitting theaters next year.
He is embroiled in a mini rivalry with Stardust and also with The Miz. Most people believe The Miz idea was thrown in due to the passing of Dusty Rhodes. Few knew if Cody Rhodes would be back in time for WWE SummerSlam, which is why Miz took some shots at Stephen Amell online. WWE wants Amell to be in some sort of program for SummerSlam, regardless of who it’s with.
Thankfully, Stardust is back and should be involved in a match with Amell. Right now, both he and Neville are involved in a comic book sort of rivalry, which has been interesting to see. Since Neville’s finisher is The Red Arrow, it makes sense for him to be involved in some way. There have been some reports that a tag team match could occur with Neville and Amell taking on The Miz and Stardust, but this is not yet confirmed.
Amell commented on the whole ordeal and mentioned in a video on his Facebook page that he would find out all about it when WWE comes to the Pacific Northwest in a few weeks. It looks like he’s ready to do just that, as according to Cageside Seats, Stephen Amell is set to appear on the August 10th WWE RAW from Everett, Washington. Since Arrow tapes in Canada, it makes sense for Amell to make the short trip to WWE RAW for an appearance and then be back for filming the next day.
It is said that his match for SummerSlam will be set that night, so we’ll know on August 10th whether or not WWE is planning a tag match or something one on one between Stephen Amell and Stardust. There is some thought that Stardust might show up on the set of Arrow for a WWE segment with Amell to make it easier on Amell while having to work with WWE and film his show at the same time. However, this is not yet confirmed.
