‘I Am Cait’ Premiere Leaves Social Media Users In Tears, #IAmCait Becomes Number One Trend
#IAmCait quickly became one of the number one hashtags on Twitter after Caitlyn Jenner’s, formerly known as Bruce Jenner, eight-part docuseries I am Cait premiered last night on E!. Just minutes into the episode, the hashtag #IAmCait was already the number one trend on Twitter, and remained that way hours after the show ended.

Although Jenner is now divorced from ex-wife Kris Jenner, many of the Kardashian family members appeared to show their support for Caitlyn. Rob Kardashian, who has been MIA on most of the Keeping up with the Kardashians episodes, called to talk to Jenner on the phone, while Kim Kardashian and her husband, rapper Kanye West, appeared as well. Jenner’s mother was also present, providing her full support to her now daughter.
Caitlyn’s youngest daughter, Kylie Jenner, also got to meet her father as a woman for the first time, and assured her that she wasn’t scared of her and actually described her as being “pretty.” The moment Kylie met Caitlyn was very candid, and it is safe to say Caitlyn wasn’t completely ready for their reunion. While they didn’t actually meet in person originally, Kylie surprised Caitlyn by calling in on a FaceTime video.
“I don’t want to scare you,” her father tells her, to which Kylie replies, “You’re not scaring me. You look pretty!”
Later in the episode, Kylie arrives at her father’s home to meet her in person.
“I do want to meet her. It may be a little uncomfortable in the beginning but I think we’re both ready,” Kylie says before arriving at her father’s home, according to E! News. “Hey, pretty!” she said as she walks up to her dad and gives him a hug.
“Hey, baby! I didn’t know you were here!” Caitlyn says, surprised to see her daughter. “You look so pretty,” Kylie gushes once again.
The series, which documents Jenner’s transition to a woman, has become an instant hit, with many people describing it as “addicting.” The show received a lot of promotion prior to the premiere, but no one could really anticipate how emotional and raw Jenner’s story would be.
While there are always going to be mixed opinions on any controversial matter, most of the comments following Caitlyn’s premiere were positive, with many social media users claiming they were in tears minutes into the show.
Below is just a few of the comments from Twitter users who tuned into Sunday night’s premiere episode of I am Cait:
