Killer Seagulls Terrorize The U.K., Killing Pet Dogs, Eating Rats Whole — Residents Fear Babies May Be Next

In a nightmare scene right out of the mind of Alfred Hitchcock, residents of Cornwall in the U.K. are being overrun by killer seagulls that have so far killed two pet dogs, a tortoise, and have attacked a senior citizen.

In May, Devon resident Nikki Wayne found the body of her Chihuahua, Bella, in a pool of blood in her back garden. The killer seagulls had already attempted to attack the tiny dog, so Nikki was vigilant to never allow the pup outside by herself.

“I got really worried about it. [The seagulls] started to swoop down to my face level, brushing me.”

On the tragic day, however, Bella had managed to nudge open a partially ajar door while Nikki was in the shower. The killer seagulls swooped on the dog, and pecked her to death before she could get back in the house.

Last week, Emily Vincent’s 8-year-old Yorkshire Terrier, named Roo, was also pecked to death by seagulls in the family’s garden. This time, however, Roo wasn’t alone during the seagull attack. Emily’s 3-year-old son, Jace, was with the dog, and witnessed the vicious assault by the killer seagulls.

“Jace was with Roo in the garden and then all of a sudden Jace started screaming that Roo is bleeding. I ran into the kitchen and saw Roo lying on his side and there was blood everywhere. It was like a murder scene. I couldn’t get any sense out of Jace initially but then he kept saying the big bird has got sharp teeth.”

Emily rushed Roo to the vet, but sadly, due to a crushed skull from being ruthlessly pecked by the seagulls, he suffered brain damage and had to be put down.

The brazen seagulls have also attacked and killed a pet tortoise, and knocked over and bloodied 66-year-old Sue Atkinson while she walked her dog near a primary school. Pictures of the killer seagulls killing and eating other animals whole have also found their way online, and only managed to further the fear caused by the feathery fiends.

Now, residents are not only scared for the welfare of their pets, but also their children, and rightfully so, says Simon Prentis, of the Gull Awareness Group.

“To seagulls, what’s the difference between a dog playing on the lawn and a baby playing on the lawn? If somebody were to leave a baby sleeping in a pram or a push chair and left it unattended, it happens I would not wish it on anybody, but we’re headed in that direction.”

Unfortunately, not much can be done about the killer seagulls at the moment, as seagulls are a protected species in Cornwall. Prime Minister David Cameron hopes to change that and says a “big conversation” needs to happen about the “murderous” seagulls, and it needs to happen soon, before the seagulls decide rodents and dogs don’t cut it any longer.
