Could ‘The Bachelor’ Star ‘The Two Bens’ Next Season? Chris Harrison Weighs In

With Season 11 of The Bachelorette getting ready to wrap things up in its final episode, many are wondering just who will become the next star of The Bachelor. Although some have speculated that Ben Higgins will be the next lead man, host Chris Harrison recently revealed that no decision has been made.

“We have, kind of, an embarrassment of riches as far as decisions for the next Bachelor, and who knows! I mean, we have not picked a new Bachelor contrary to popular belief,” Harrison told Reality TV World.

With the production team still trying to make up their minds, Harrison left open the possibility for the show to start off with two leading men. “Never say never,” Harrison stated in regards to having two men on The Bachelor. “Now we have the two Bens,” he added, referencing Ben Higgins and Ben Zorn.

Having two guys on the show wouldn’t be completely out of the ordinary. In this season of The Bachelorette, producers did exactly that when they introduced Britt and Kaitlyn at the beginning of the show before narrowing it down to one.

“I remember [executive producer] Mike Fleiss called me and brought up the idea of having Britt and Kaitlyn,” Harrison explained.

“I just reminded them the difficulties of doing that production-wise, because beyond the television side of what you guys see, two Bachelorettes just means double the work.”

Harrison added that the first few nights of production were a lot of work, but that he thought it was worth it in the end. “Those first couple of nights were extremely difficult for production. It was a brutal task to pull that off. But it made sense because so many people wanted both of them.”

Is there a possibility that the show will repeat what they did on The Bachelorette and feature both Bens, fighting it out to see who becomes the next Bachelor? Harrison left open that possibility, and even added a few names to the list.

“So maybe we will do the two Bens, or we have [Chris ‘Cupcake’ Strandburg] and [Jared Haibon]… I think there’s a lot of guys that could come out of this season and be great Bachelors.”

In light of all this, Higgins confirmed to People that he has not signed on with ABC for Season 20 of The Bachelor. He also stated that he would be willing to do another series if ABC asked him.

The Bachelorette finale airs Monday, July 27, while The Bachelor returns this fall.
