The CONCACAF Gold Cup Final is already a sellout, as more than 66,000 will pack Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia Sunday. But fans can still watch live online to see if Jamaica can pull off their second straight giant-killing when they face six-time champion Mexico — a team that finds itself lucky to be back in the final after getting the benefit of some questionable refereeing calls — calls that CONCACAF has now admitted were “errors.”

Jamaica earned their spot in Sunday’s final with a stunning upset of the USA on Wednesday, sending the Reggae Boyz to their first Gold Cup Final, the biggest game in Jamaica’s soccer history, with a chance to become only the second nation other than USA or Mexico to win the tournament, which has been held bi-annually since 1991.
Canada, who won the 2000 edition of the Gold Cup, remains the only team other than Mexico, with six championships, and Team USA with five, to take home the CONCACAF trophy.
Mexico came close to suffering an upset of their own to Panama in Wednesday’s semifinal, needing a phantom foul call in the box to set up a penalty kick to tie the game in second half added time, even though Panama played the final 65 minutes with 10 men thanks to another debatable call that handed a red card to Luis Tejada.
After the game, Panama soccer officials called the game “fixed,” and the team’s players were photographed with a banner labeling CONCACAF “corrupt thieves.”
Nonetheless, Mexico got through, and according to Coach Miguel Herrera, are taking their unlikely opponents seriously.
“Jamaica plays well, keep possession well and have quick players,” he commented on Saturday. “We have to be attentive, nothing is easy.”
CONCACAF issued a statement Saturday admitting officiating “errors” in the Mexico vs. Panama match, but failing to specify what those errors were.
