Pool Fire At The Cosmopolitan Of Las Vegas Hotel Leaves One Injured


Yahoo News is reporting a fire at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. According to reports, the fire broke on the 14th floor of the hotel and soon began to spread fast. Initial information says that the fire started at around 12:15 p.m., local time. The 14th floor of the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas is known for the pool deck known as the Bamboo Pool.

The fire spread rapidly due to the presence of artificial plants and cabanas in the area. This was confirmed by Clark County Assistant Fire Chief Sandra Baker. Emergency services were immediately called in and they managed to douse the fire within a span of 30 minutes, ABC News reports. Luckily, there are no reports of serious injuries or deaths following the fire. However, one person was reportedly affected by the smoke caused by the fire and had to be hospitalized for smoke inhalation. Other reports say that there were two people who were injured.

Officials from the hotel added that several guests staying at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas were told to evacuate the building as smoke began to spread into other floors. After the fire was brought under control, officials confirmed that the structure was safe to move in. Hotel officials also confirmed that all guests would be able to stay in their rooms tonight.

During the time of the fire, here were tweets from several people who witnessed smoke emanating from the hotel.

Meanwhile, the actual cause of the fire at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas remains under investigation. Both the local fire department and hotel authorities are looking into the matter and are expected to come up with some findings in the days to come.
