‘Bachelor In Paradise’ Star Clare Crawley Called Out For Periscoping While Driving And Petting Her Dog

Clare Crawley returns to Bachelor in Paradise on August 2, and her fans are hoping she will find love this time around. A hairdresser at the DeFacto Salon in Sacramento, California, Clare was on her lunch break on Saturday and took the time to answer questions about Paradise and her adorable dog, Elbie.

Hundreds of fans popped on to Periscope to watch Clare (user name Clare_Crawley) juggle driving, her dog, and questions from her followers during her Saturday afternoon live video stream. Although there were non-stop questions about the upcoming season of Bachelor in Paradise, several fans called her out for driving and “Periscoping.”

For those not familiar with Periscope, it’s a wildly popular live video streaming app that lets users live-stream a broadcast to followers around the world. Many celebs, including a number of Bachelor franchise cast members, frequently use the app to show their fans what’s happening in their normal, everyday lives. The videos stay active for 24 hours, but only if the user makes them available.

Clare’s fans were right to be concerned about the reality star chatting live, reading her followers’ questions, petting her dog — all while driving to get lunch. Digital Takeout states that using the Periscope app while driving is yet another distraction, with users too busy looking at their phones to respond to comments to fully pay attention to traffic around them.

When Clare was asked if she thought it was safe to drive and Periscope, she replied, “absolutely not” — but continued to drive, noting that she was familiar with the route she was taking. Fortunately, she made it to her destination without incident.

While she drove, she answered a few questions pertaining to Bachelor in Paradise Season 2, but was obviously under contract not to spoil the show, so her answers were rather vague.

When asked why she went back to Paradise, she explained that going on TV takes her “out of her comfort zone.” She previously appeared as a contestant on Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise Season 1, and didn’t find love on either show. Who can forget Clare calling Bachelor Juan Pablo out after he dumped her at the final rose ceremony?

When asked if she found love while taping the upcoming season of Bachelor in Paradise, she told her followers that she couldn’t reveal what happens, but there spoilers indicate that her time on the show won’t have a fairytale ending.

[Spoilers ahead]

It may be time for Clare to look for the man of her dreams somewhere other than on a reality TV show. Reality Steve states that while Clare does go on dates with Mikey Tenerelli (Bachelorette Season 9) and Jared Haibon (Kaitlyn’s season), she is eliminated on Episode 5.

Watch two-night premiere of ABC’s Bachelor in Paradise Season 2 starts at 8 p.m. ET on August 2.
