Maggie Gyllenhaal, Peter Sarsgaard Welcome Their Second Child

Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard have welcomed in their second child.

Gyllenhaal gave birth to a baby girl, Gloria Ray, on April 19 in New York, her publicist confirmed on Monday. Gloria Ray will join Maggie and Peter’s first daughter, Ramona, who was born in 2006. The couple got married in 2009.

Gyllenhaal and Sarsgaard are excited about the new addition to their family, but don’t expect any pictures of their daughter to surface anytime soon. Speaking in an interview with USA Today last month, Gyllenhaal said she has no plans to sell Gloria Ray’s baby photos.

Maggie’s pregnancy has been largely kept under wraps since last year; the 34-year-old actress attended premiers several premiers last year, all without anyone knowing that she was carrying her second child.

“I find it difficult to pretend you’re not pregnant, which I had to do. I didn’t let anyone know until three and a half months this time. I went to film festivals. I’m throwing up in the bathroom and having to keep pretzels in my purse, and having to fit into dresses,” she said.

Not only did she hide the fact that she was pregnant, and refuses to sell her baby photos, but Gyllenhaal also opted not to reveal her due date to avoid tipping the press. “I hope they don’t make an issue of it this time,” Gyllenhaal said. “I have to think about that stuff.”
