Gal Gadot Interview Magazine: Wonder Woman Reveals Superhero Training From Israel Defense Forces Experience [Video]

Gal Gadot in Interview magazine reveals perhaps more of herself than the 30-year-old former supermodel, Miss Israel, and alum of the Israel Defense Forces intended. But Gal made it clear that she wants to respond to growing criticism that she’s the wrong choice for Wonder Woman. Gadot consequently shared precisely why she feels she’s the ideal superhero for a new era, reported Interview magazine.

“No matter what you do, you can never please them all,” admitted Gal of the controversy. “People will always have something to say because that’s the way people are. And it’s okay. But for me, it’s my job. It’s my career. It’s my art.”

Gadot has a goal for her Superhero role, she told Interview magazine.

“Whatever I do, I take it very seriously and I do my research and I give it my best. I just want to be able to shine and inspire people. And it’s not just about me. It’s the script and the story and the acting. I hope people are going to love it.”

After devoting two years to the Israel Defense Forces, Gal has learned discipline as well as acquired a new level of fitness.

“I was a gym trainer on one of the bases in Israel,” Gadot revealed to Interview magazine. “So my boot camp was longer than other boot camps. It was four months and all about sports, waking up at 6:30 a.m. and going for a run, doing push-ups…When I did my camera test for Fast & Furious, I had a conversation with Justin Lin and he was talking about weapons, that he wants this girl to be a pro at weapons, and asked if I ever had any experience with weapons. I told him that I used them in boot camp, so I came prepared.”

In addition, Gal shared her supermom devotion to her 3-year-old daughter, pointed out People in its coverage of Gadot’s Interview magazine revelations.

“You always try to do the best, but you feel you can always be better,” said Gal. “At the end of the day, I always tell myself that it is very, very important for me to be a good role model.”

Portraying a superhero gives her even more of a chance to inspire.

“I feel like I’ve been given a huge opportunity to inspire people, not only women. And not because of me but because of who Wonder Woman is and what she stands for,” added Gadot.

As the Inquisitr reported, Gal also has shared the details of her diet and current workout routine to get into superhero shape. In addition to doing martial arts, she’s involved in all types of sports, including paddle-boarding. And she keeps her diet guidelines simple.

“I look at food as fuel and I want to give the best to my body. It’s all a matter of measurements and quantity of the food; just enjoy your food…give the food the respect and give yourself the respect to enjoy it.”
