‘Power Rangers’ Ricardo Medina Jr. Should Be Arrested For Sword Slaying Death, Claims Family

Earlier in 2015, former Power Rangers actor Ricardo Medina. Jr. was previously arrested on murder charges after his roommate, Joshua Sutter, was stabbed and killed with a sword. Medina was never charged by prosecutors and was eventually released, but now the family of Sutter is saying the red Power Ranger belongs in jail.

In a related report by the Inquisitr, the Power Rangers parody video inspired a lot of controversy due to its dark and gritty nature, and even the original green Power Ranger, Jason David Frank, had something to say about it.

Ricardo Medina Jr. is best known for his role as Cole Evans, the Red Wild Force Ranger, on Power Rangers Wild Force. The stabbing reportedly took place after Medina and Joshua Sutter got into a heated argument in their home, which they shared together as roommates. They allegedly were arguing over whether or not Medina’s girlfriend could hang out at their place when Medina wasn’t home.

The argument became heated, reaching the point where Medina and his girlfriend took shelter in his bedroom. It wasn’t long before Sutter reportedly forced his way through the door and Medina stabbed him in the abdomen with a medieval style sword that he kept in the room.

The red Power Ranger apologized for the incident, saying he regretted what happened.

“I’m very, very, very sorry for what occurred,” he said. “I’m very happy to be out of jail, and my heart goes out to the Sutter family.”

Although the Los Angeles County sheriff’s office had Ricardo Medina. Jr. arrested for murder, they eventually decided there was not enough evidence to charge Medina.

“His case was rejected, pending further investigation,” said deputy Amber Smith.

Investigators say the case is ongoing and the recently released autopsy report is among the new evidence they will be submitting to to the district attorney’s office.

“We have to protect the integrity of the investigation, so its not over. It’s just the D.A. wanted more information to consider. When we get that information, we will give it to them,” said Lt. Victor Lewandowski.

Joshua Sutter’s sister, Rachel Kennedy, recently saw her brother’s autopsy report for the first time this week. ABC says the “autopsy report shows Sutter sustained 10 sharp force injuries, including multiple hand injuries consistent with defensive wounds and a stab wound through the abdomen.”

“There’s something wrong with this story,” said Kennedy. “Who grabs a sword and stabs someone through their stomach and out through their back? This is murder!”

“I just kept looking at the injuries, and I just kept thinking of how much he must have suffered,” said Sandra Vasquez, Sutter’s former girlfriend.

Sutter’s family do not believe Ricardo Medina Jr. acted in self defense. They want the red Power Ranger to be charged with murder, but in the meantime they plan on filing a wrongful death lawsuit.
