Maria Sharapova and Grigor Dimitrov Have Ended Their Love Match, Couple Has Split Up

Tennis sweetheart Maria Sharapova, and boyfriend Girgor Dimitrov have been together for over two years now. They seemed like a good love match, but it looks like their relationship has fizzled out. The Daily Mail has reported that the two tennis pros have gone their separate ways. They have apparently split up.

The 16th-ranked player in the world actually announced the news himself to the Bulgarian media. He made it sound like it was a mutual decision to break up. Dimitrov and Sharapova began their relationship in 2013 and they seemed pretty happy in many photos seen of them holding hands and spending time together. However, it seems that their happiness as a couple has come to an end. Grigor said that he wished Maria happiness as they move on from each other.

“I wish her much happiness and success in life and in tennis. Now I’m concentrated entirely on the game and I’m sure the results will soon be seen. This is the summer of the new beginning for me.”

What is this new beginning that he speaks of? It sounds like maybe their relationship was interfering with his tennis game. Dimitrov’s performance on the tennis court so far this year has not been up to par. It looked like he was on his way when he climbed up to number eight in the world, but he has not quite done that this year as he moved down in the ATP rankings.

In addition to splitting with Sharapova, the Bulgarian recently chose to part ways with coach Roger Rasheed. Rumors are flying that he has grabbed the talents of former tennis champ Ivan Lendl.

It looks like both tennis pros are getting on with their lives as single people. Maria Sharapova has enough to keep her busy. Between her continuing tennis career and her candy company called Sugarpova, she will be just fine. The Russian also has some sort of secret project going on that she has been posting about on Twitter.

Maria has yet to mention their split, but that will probably be the topic in interviews as she gets ready for the US Open coming up soon. With both of them in the tennis circuit, Sharapova and Dimitrov will definitely be crossing paths in the near future.

The 28-year-old tennis star recently took some time out to relax with a friend on the beaches of Montenegro after the big split. Then it is back to work as she gets ready to hopefully slam her way into the US Open women’s final in Flushing Meadow. Hopefully, she will not get called out again for her grunting on the tennis courts as she was during Wimbledon this year. The Inquisitr reported that she was slammed for the noises that she made while slamming the ball across the court a few weeks ago.

Do you think that this breakup between Maria Sharapova and Grigor Dimitrov will help their tennis game?
