‘Real Housewives Of Orange County’ Star Vicki Gunvalson Talks ‘Sadness’ Of Mother’s Death, Brooks Ayers’ Cancer

The Real Housewives of Orange County star Vicki Gunvalson has been an open book since the series debuted 10 seasons ago. But fans have never seen the “OG of the OC” go through more than we have this season. From her boyfriend Brooks Ayers’ battle with cancer to her mother’s devastating sudden death, it is not surprising that Vicki is surrounded with “sadness.”

In her latest Bravo blog, Gunvalson opened up about all that has transpired so far this season. Starting with what happened when a medium (not median!) came to her house so that she and her brother Billy could communicate one last time with their mom.

“Because Billy is the one who found my mom, he is the one that is really taking it the hardest. A friend of his in Illinois told him about mediums and how they were able to connect with those that have crossed over. We really didn’t know much about it and went in with an open mind. Although I felt at times he was connecting with my mom, the overall experience what somewhat freaky. I mean was this guy really connecting with my mom’s spirit? I simply don’t know how that can be.”

Gunvalson appeared to be ready to blow off some steam with the other Real Housewives of Orange County during a trip to the bowling alley.

“I was happy to get out with the ladies and go bowling because it had been a few weeks after my mom died and I needed a break from all the sadness. Shannon approaching me about Brooks’ cancer in the midst of me trying to have some “fun” was not good timing as far as I’m concerned.”

Vicki also thanked her fans for their support during Ayer’s battle with cancer and offered an update on his health.

“I want to thank those of you who have reached out to Brooks and thank you for extending your prayers and well wishes. I want you to know he truly appreciates it. Regarding his cancer therapy, a crucial part of it is focused on boosting his immune system and literally starving the cancer away. As most of you know, cancer cannot survive in an oxygenated, alkaline setting and that has been our primary focus. It’s been a long journey but we have an amazing team and HE will win this battle.”

Gunvalson is not the only RHOC star going through the ringer this season. Her friend Shannon Beador is also dealing with her fair share of drama. Although Vicki maintains she did not know about David Beador’s affair like the other housewives, she is still proud of the work the couple is putting in to save their marriage.

“I am so proud of David and Shannon and their commitment to their marriage. Watching David give Shannon her Valentine’s Day gift was so thoughtful and inspiring that marriages can survive after one has been unfaithful. I agree with Shannon that you have to be honest and forthright in order to be able to move forward. I’m a lot like Shannon, and forgiveness is something I am not very good at, so that even makes me more proud of her that she has been able to do that so well.”
