Hot Pants Wearing Golfer Paige Spiranac Insists She Doesn’t Want To Be A Sex Symbol

Like some sort of miniskirt wearing, high-heeled Colossus, Paige Spiranac has stormed into the rather twee and conservative game of golf and earned herself the title of “the hottest female athlete on earth.”

Like a breath of fresh air in a world of grandpa argyles, cable knit sweaters, and ill-fitting trousers, Paige has captured the imagination of many with her unusual choice of golfing attire.

When Paige swings, she likes to swing in style, usually in cropped tops, mini-skirts, and hot pants, which is probably why she’s been making headlines off the green as golf’s first sex symbol. She has generated more Google searches than the St. Andrews Open.

Yet in an interview with Sportsgrid, Paige insists she’s not trying to be a sex symbol, and she’s only wearing what she feels comfortable in.

“I workout in the morning and then I head straight to the golf course so I’ll just throw on a skirt. They’re quick to judge that I’m just doing it for attention but it’s just me wearing what I’m comfortable in and it’s a waste of time for me to go home and change.”

As for stalking the greens wearing plenty of slap, Paige insists it helps her game.

“I like to wear makeup, that’s just how I feel good about myself, I like to feel confident because I play better that way. I never understood why you have to be good at sport or attractive.”

Although no other aspiring LPGA players post videos and pictures of themselves swinging the iron and hitting shots while wearing hot pants and mini-skirts, Paige is keen to stress it’s all part and parcel of shaking up the somewhat stale and stuffy reputation golf has been lumbered with.

“I’d like to change the perception that [golf] is more of a sport now. I’d also like fans to be more interactive with the players and make it like all the other sporting events because it’s kind of boring just standing there and watching other people play.”

And for all you haters out there, Paige also uses the way she looks to challenge sexism in sport.

“It’s pretty funny. I’ll be stretching or something before I’m about to hit golf balls and I’ve had guys come up to me and be like, ‘Sweetie, do you need help?’ and try to give me swing tips, then they see me hit that first golf ball.

“They never expect me to be good.”
