Police Chief Kevin Coffey Dry-Humped 14-Year-Old Girl In His Office — But That’s Not All

Police Chief Kevin Coffey, is now “former,” admitted to having an intimate relationship with a 14-year-old girl. Even while on-the-job, he humped her. But there’s more.

Former Chief Coffey, 49, of the Maypearl Police Department, formally admitted to being inappropriate with the aforementioned minor. However, this came after his arrest. Texas Rangers arrived at Coffey’s house on Wednesday morning, according to CBS-News Dallas-Fort Worth. After arresting the former chief, and upon arrival to Ellis County Jail, news cameras were waiting. It was then, as reports PINAC, that Coffey surrendered a statement about his actions with the 14-year-old minor.

The victim, actually, came forth with her information after she found out that another girl tipped the Rangers to Coffey’s sexual advances. That’s when they searched his house and took him into custody, as reported by Dallas Morning News. She and her parents mentioned that they were afraid to speak about his unwanted advances before then because they feared that Coffey would retaliate, against them, as well as their business establishment in Maypearl, Texas.

After spending the night in jail, on Thursday at 7:25 a.m., he was arraigned and removed from his position. Coffey is charged with four felony counts of child sexual abuse, totaling $350,000 in bail. According to CBS-News DFW, the counts are as follows:

  1. Indecency with a Child by Contact – $100,000
  2. Sexual Performance by a Child – $100,000
  3. Sexual Assault of a Child – $100,000
  4. Indecency with a Child by Exposure – $50,000

Former-Chief Coffey was inappropriate with the 14-year-old on varying degrees, and it lasted a few years. PINAC mentions that Coffey would — but not limited to — dry-hump her, place his hands in her clothes, kiss on her and have sexual video chat sessions. As far as touching inappropriately, WFAA-8 confirms at least one of those allegations.

“The girl said Coffey would message her almost daily, was ‘very touchy’ around her, and Coffey’s messages had gotten progressively worse since he started messaging her. She also told the Ranger she used to smoke marijuana and ‘Chief Coffey would enjoy seeing her stoned’. She said she felt Coffey was waiting until she was 17 to try and have sex with her, according to the affidavit.”

At this time, the victim is 16-years of age. The same news source mentions that Kevin Coffey sent her a particular message on Facebook which confirmed that he’d already sexually assaulted her before. It reads as follows.

“I’ll cuff u and put u on the hood of the car again and smack that a** lol.”

In another message, he added, “Had a nice spot picked out to stop you and everything lol.”
