Henry Cavill ‘Fifty Shades’ Rumors Put To Rest By Actor–Will He Play Jack Hyde?

About that Henry Cavill Fifty Shades rumor…The British actor has finally put to rest all the talk that he was going to take on a secondary character in the sequel, after his comments lit up the Internet on fire.

The rumors that Henry Cavill would be joining the E.L. James adaptation have been floating around for a while and as the Inquisitr reported Wednesday evening, the 32-year-old actor addressed them during an interview to promote his latest film, The Man From U.N.C.L.E..

His loyal fans remember when the casting for Fifty Shades was happening and Henry Cavill’s name kept coming up as one the most popular actors to take on the role of the raunchy billionaire Christian Grey. After some issues, Jamie Dornan earned the role, which left many disappointed for a time, until the film premiered in movie theaters.

After months of speculation, Cavill seemed to suggest he was actually taking on the role of Anastasia Steels’s (Dakota Johnson) boss, Jack Hyde. He fits the description perfectly. “A man with with sensual blue eyes that can pierce your heart.”

When asked by E! News, during the press junket to promote The Man From U.N.C.L.E., Henry Cavill said this. “Basically what I can say is, I can’t say anything about it right now.”

That little comment sent fans aflutter with excitement at the possibility to see the handsome Brit on the Fifty Shades sequel, but apparently Henry was just playing with us. During an interview of Henry Cavill and his The Man From U.N.C.L.E. co-star, Armie Hammer with Heat World, Henry finally put the rumors to rest.

After the interviewer asked for clarification and before Henry could say anything, Hammer interrupted saying.

“He’s doing it. Totally doing it. Absolutely doing it. He confided in me earlier, I’m sorry to break your trust. He’s definitely doing it.”

The interviewer suggested the Henry Cavill, Fifty Shades rumors got going because he’s been hanging out with the film’s star, Jamie Dornan “a lot lately.” Even though both actors were joking around, when pressed to “just say it” Cavill finally confessed that he will not be a part of the film.

“It would be a lot of fun to continue this rouse, but I’m not doing it. No.” Henry Cavill said and Hammer then added “Yet. This is all part of negotiations.” suggesting there’s going to be a back and forth with the studio. Henry Cavill seemed a little uncomfortable and ended the discussion saying that his friendship with Dornan started all the rumors and confusion about the Fifty Shades role.
