Ed Sheeran Addresses Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj’s VMAs Twitter Feud

Ed Sheeran is the latest celeb to share his thoughts on Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj’s alleged Twitter feud about the 2015 MTV VMAs. The singer-songwriter shared his thoughts with the Telegraph, which was leaked from a Taylor Swift/Ed Sheeran fan via Twitter.

In the interview, Sheeran was asked about whose side he’s on in the Swift and Minaj Twitter feud. It all started on Tuesday, July 21, when Minaj expressed her disappointment on Twitter when she realized her video for “Anaconda” wasn’t nominated for Video of the Year and Best Choreography. The rapper exclaimed how white women and those with “slim bodies” are always nominated for Video of the Year at the awards show.

Taylor thought that Nicki’s tweet was about her, which left the rapper even more confused. Now it looks like Ed Sheeran is giving his take on their alleged Twitter beef. Ed thinks Nicki is wrong to be upset since black women like Beyonce are always nominated for Video of the Year.

“I think everyone knows that Taylor has done nothing wrong in that situation. She didn’t nominate herself for the awards. It’s not her fault, she just made some good videos and people think they’re good. And I think the Minaj point is a bit redundant, her point is that you have to be skinny and white to get a video of the year nomination but Beyonce’s 7/11 is in there and that is celebrating the female figure in every form.”

Ed Sheeran also found himself in the middle of his own Twitter beef with Bruno Mars. It’s all in good fun, though. Bruno Mars, whose video for “Uptown Funk” was up for a nomination for Video of the Year, decided to have some fun with Ed Sheeran.

Mars jokingly tweeted, “Yo I want in on this twitter Beef!! VMAs is the new WWF! @edsheeran F**k You!”

Sheeran quickly responded, poking fun at Mars’ short height, “any way we do dis you gon’ come up short.”

Bruno then added, “That Cut deep…U always know how to sheer me to the core. I can’t believe we’re Sheeran this in public. How dare u!”

Ed replied, “@BrunoMars but all my crew know that Bruno has eyebrows dat be uno. And plays Cluedo with SuBo, but you lose coz you blow.”

Those aren’t the only celebrities who found themselves in the middle of Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj’s beef. Katy Perry also apparently responded, calling Swift’s comments “ironic.”

Katy Perry made a surprise appearance with her tweet that read, “Finding it ironic to parade the pit women against other women argument about as one unmeasurably capitalizes on the take down of a woman…” She was allegedly alluding to Taylor Swift’s infamous “Bad Blood” video, which is said to be about her arch nemesis.
