Katie Holmes Still Up For A ‘Dawson’s Creek’ Reunion

Katie Holmes is still talking about a Dawson’s Creek reunion. Ms. Joey Potter was on hand on Good Morning America to promote her new role in the Showtime series Ray Donovan. Of course, talk of her old hit WB show came up.

When asked if she would be down for a reunion, a question she has answered once before, Holmes seemed to be enthused about the possibility. “I think we’d all have a really great time doing it. I don’t know. It’s a wonderful question to be asked, and we had a wonderful time making it, so we’ll see.”

That said, it doesn’t seem like a reunion is likely. James Van Der Beek, who played the Dawson to Holmes’ Joey, said that it’s really up to the writers, and if creator Kevin Williamson has anything to say about it, it won’t happen. Van Der Beek was speaking with Huffington Post Live while promoting the CBS show Friends With Better Lives when a Dawson’s Creek reunion question was asked.

“Well [creator] Kevin Williamson said he didn’t want to write it and he didn’t think it would be artistically gratifying for the fans. Which was all the excuse I needed to say. I can’t conceive of a scenario where people would think, ‘That’s so great. I’m glad they did it. That was totally worthwhile and not cheesy.'”

One huge problem about a Dawson’s Creek reunion is that Michelle Williams, one of the original cast members, wouldn’t be able to participate as her character. As many of us Creekers know, Jen Lindley died in the series finale.

That said, Williams would “really love” to do a reunion. We don’t know if she was being tongue-in-cheek, but when she was asked in 2012, Williams said, “My character died in the end, so there are certain limitations for me. It’s either I come back as a ghost or I’m shot through a lot of gauzy, hazy light as my nineteen-year-old self.”

As for Joshua Jackson, aka Pacey? He’s currently starring in the show The Affair, but he didn’t seem to be on board with a reunion. In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Jackson said, “Well, we killed the show so I don’t think that’s ever going to happen. Never say never. If I’m out of work for enough years, absolutely. We’ll be old and gray and nasty by the time [that happens].”

Do you think there should be a Dawson’s Creek reunion?
