WWE News: Will The Undertaker Wrestle After ‘WWE Summerslam’?

The Undertaker made his return to the WWE just three nights ago at WWE Battleground. He confronted the “Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar, costing him his chance to reclaim the WWE World Heavyweight championship. Now, one night after his match with Lesnar at WWE SummerSlam became official, Undertaker’s future is clearer.

According to WrestlingNews, Undertaker is being advertised for WWE’s tour of Mexico which is set to take place in mid-October. He is being advertised for all three shows. Here are the dates and locations of Undertaker’s rumored appearances.

    • October 16: Merida, Mexico
    • October 17: Mexico City, Mexico
    • October 18: Monterrey, Mexico

Although he is reportedly scheduled to appear, it should be noted that he is not being advertised in a wrestling capacity. That will likely come as sad news to all the fans who had intentions of attending any of aforementioned three events. But it’s a rare occurrence for the “Phenom” to make this many appearances for WWE.

At 50 years old, The Undertaker’s body is a mere shell of what it once was. With nearly three decades of taking bumps in the wrestling ring, his body has been battered and brusied to the point of him barely being able to handle one match per year.

But if the Undertaker does make these rumored live event appearances, it would be the first time since 2013 that Undertaker would have appeared at a live event. He returned in late-February of 2013 at a live event in Waco, Texas, to team with Sheamus. The duo took on Damien Sandow and Wade Barrett in a winning effort. Undertaker went on to wrestle CM Punk at Wrestlemania 29 and compete in two more matches that year before disappearing.

In 2014, Undertaker returned just in time to begin his Wrestlemania 30 program with Lesnar. After losing his undefeated streak and suffering a myriad of injuries at the hands of the “Beast,” Undertaker was not seen or heard from until Wrestlemania 31. The “Deadman” did not make a single appearance leading up to his match with Bray Wyatt. He appeared at the event, won, and left once again.

Then, we did not hear or see from Undertaker until this past Sunday when he returned to confront Lesnar. That goes to show how rarely Undertaker makes any sort of appearances. Therefore, any fans who attend the shows in Mexico will be in for perhaps their last chance to see Undertaker at a live event before he calls it quits for good.
