Florida Woman Abandoned Kids At Waffle House So She Could Party

A Florida woman is in trouble for reportedly ditching her kids at a greasy spoon while she went out for drinks. Raw Story reports that the three children — two 12-year-olds and one 11-years-old — were left crying in the parking lot of a Richmond County, Georgia Waffle House last night.

An arrest report states that 38-year-old Rhiannon Gentry was charged with deprivation of a minor, after she was tracked down at a nearby establishment having drinks at a bar with a couple of men. It’s also being reported that the woman did not leave the children with enough money to pay for their meals, which left them distraught. It’s not being reported if the children even got to eat dinner.

News 12 WRDW reports that Gentry was across the street from the waffle house where the children were left crying in the parking lot. A witness told authorities that the children were unattended for at least 45 minutes in the cafe, but they could have been there longer. An employee at the Waffle House said it had been “well over an hour.” On the other hand, the Florida woman told police that she had only gone across the street to pay a bar tab.

This isn’t the first time a Florida woman has been in the news for questionable parenting. Last year, an Orlando woman was busted for letting her kids drink “in a controlled setting.” One of the children was a 7-year-old boy, to give an idea of how young the minors were. She was charged with child neglect. Another Florida woman was arrested earlier this year after she reportedly beat her for getting poor grades. She also sent her to school wearing a “shame shirt,”which announced that she had “gotten a whooping,” for her grades. She was charged with child abuse. Another mom from Florida became internet famous when she kidnapped her own daughter to keep her from learning black history in school.

No reports indicate whether or not Rhiannon Gentry’s kids were taken from her custody after Monday night’s incident, but she has been charged with at least one count of depriving a minor, which stems from her abandoning them at Waffle House without enough money to pay for food. The children weren’t reportedly injured when authorities responded to calls from witnesses, but it hasn’t been reported if Gentry has been arrested for anything similar involving her children in the past.
