Ed Sheeran Stoked Because Success Allows Him To Treat His Mom

Ed Sheeran is becoming renowned for the kind things he does as much as for his music. The list of Sheeran’s kind moments is almost endless, and it seems that making people smile is Ed’s primary objective in life. In recent weeks we have seen Sheeran crash a wedding to help an Australian couple celebrate their nuptials. Ed also joined a 14-year-old singer on stage in a shopping mall for an impromptu duet after he heard the girl singing one of his songs. These are just a few of the things that Sheeran has done to bring a little happiness to others.

Sheeran recently played three sold out nights at London’s 80,000 capacity Wembley Stadium. In doing so Ed became the first artist to do so without the backing of a band. After playing to almost 250,000 people over three nights, you would forgive Sheeran if he allowed himself a moment to bask in what he would be forgiven for claiming as the highlight of his career. Not Ed Sheeran!

Instead, Ed told the Mirror that the highlight of his career is something altogether more down to earth. According to Sheeran the highlight of his career is the fact that he can look after his parents, who are a constant inspiration to him.

“[B]eing able to really pay my parents – not just financially – but being able to give them the things they wouldn’t have ever dreamed of.”

“Seeing them going off doing their thing is probably the best thing that’s come out of my career. They’re going around the world and for me to see that is great.”

If you needed any further proof of Sheeran’s heart-melting kindness there you have it. Looking after Mom is Ed’s number one priority. Of course this being Ed Sheeran the kindness doesn’t stop there.

The Telegraph reports that on Sunday Ed drove for five hours to help his pal, Jake Roche, propose to Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson. Little Mix were doing their sound check onstage at the Manchester Arena when Jake and Ed crashed the stage.

As Sheeran sang the couples favorite song, “Tenerife Sea,” Jake got down on one knee to propose marriage. Jesy said yes.

Afterwards Jake took to Twitter to thank Ed for helping to make his day so special, and saying that he would never be able to repay Sheeran.

As you would expect, Ed replied that he was happy to help and revealed that Jake repaid his kindness by buying Sheeran KFC.
