Caitlyn Jenner Bothered By Voice Pitch At The ESPYs
Caitlyn Jenner has overcome tremendous adversity in the months that she’s been transitioning — both on the inside and on the outside. That said, while she seems confident in her appearance and has finally reached some inner peace after decades, she is still bothered by one thing: her voice.
Jenner points out that her new feminine appearance doesn’t quite match the pitch of her voice, which is still baritone, but there’s still some significant change in her voice. That said, Caitlyn is still not completely satisfied by how she sounds. Due to how she sounded, Caitlyn was worried about how her message would resonant given the drastic difference in the tone of her voice and her appearance.

“While I felt like I looked great and that the gown looked fabulous I still have a voice issue. It’s not quite right compared to my feminine appearance. That bothers me a little bit,” she explained. “However, I hope that people don’t listen to the pitch of my voice, but listen to what I have to say. That’s important to me.”

Kris Jenner, Caitlyn’s ex-wife who’s mostly been silent, showed her support.
“I think it was amazing and very brave. I think she looked beautiful,” said the Kardashian matriarch.

As for whether or not Caitlyn was nervous about her ESPYs speech, it seems like Jenner did have a bit of nerves in reading the teleprompter in front of the world.
“As a dyslexic kid, my biggest fear in life was to go in front of the class and read because I just wasn’t very good at it — and that stays with you through your whole life.”
She continued to write in a blog post, “I’m better off getting up there knowing what I’m going to say and doing it. But at the ESPYS, I really had to stick to the prompter because I only had a certain number of minutes to make it right, to get my points across. I practiced, and practiced, and practiced, and practiced to make sure I’d nail it.”
