Demi Moore ‘In Shock’ Over Dead Man In Pool, Open For Potential Lawsuit

Demi Moore says she is in “absolute shock” that a man was found dead in the swimming pool of her Beverly Hills home over the weekend. Even though she was not home at the time, she might still be held legally responsible.

Los Angeles coroner Lt. Fred Corral said that the dead man in Moore’s pool was Edenilson Steven Valle, 21. He was found in the deep end of the pool, and was pronounced dead at 5:30 a.m. local time Sunday.

Through her publicist, Demi Moore released a statement.

“I was out of the country traveling to meet my daughters for a birthday celebration when I got the devastating news,” the actress said. She added that the death, which occurred at a party held by her assistant while she was away, was an “unthinkable tragedy, and my heart goes out to this young man’s family and friends.”

Demi Moore’s representatives have stated that neither Moore nor her daughters were home at the time of the alleged party or drowning incident. TMZ is reporting that Demi Moore’s Beverly Hills caretaker had thrown a party, and Mr. Valle, who allegedly could not swim, had been in attendance. It has also been stated that a “limited amount of alcohol” was served. It is not known yet if alcohol was a factor in the death.

Moore could still be held legally responsible, as the caretaker was working as her agent at the time of the drowning, and allowed Mr. Valle on the property.

According to People Magazine, Officer Lopez of the Los Angeles Police Department, foul play is not suspected. A toxicology report is pending to see if alcohol was a factor. Lopez also said that the victim was attending a party with only 5 or 6 people.

It was originally thought to be a party thrown by one of Demi Moore’s daughters, Rumor, Scout, and Talulah Willis. A neighbor told TMZ that the daughters had been at the house lately, and had been “having parties every day, day and night.”

Tallulah Belle Willis has been posting on social media, showing the family celebrating Scout’s birthday in what appears to be New York City.

Do you think Demi Moore should be held responsible for a party held by an employee?
