Will And Kate To Celebrate Anniversary On Sunday

It’s been one year since the Royal Wedding. Prince William and Kate Middleton, now known as Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, will celebrate their one year wedding anniversary this Sunday.

Last year, Will and Kate had an enormous and extremely public wedding. This year, however, the happily married couple will celebrate their anniversary in private.

Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine, told the Canadian Press:

“The main point is that they look as if they’re enjoying themselves. The first year of marriage is difficult for everybody and they’ve adapted to their role admirably.”

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told CTV:

“What a triumph this marriage has been. They’re happy. They’re mutually supportive.”

William and Kate will be celebrating one year of marriage this Sunday, but Kate should also be celebrating one-year of being royalty. Middleton was initially reluctant to speak publicly as the Duchess of Cambridge, but has adapted well to being in the public eye. Fitzwilliams said:

“She has adapted remarkably well. She has poise. She has beauty. She has become a fashion icon… Will and Kate are the future of the monarchy. I think they’ll be looking back on a year that’s gone wonderfully well.”

Middleton and William attended several public events together during their first year of marriage but the last few months the Duchess of Cambridge has been left to her own devices as William spent several months overseas with the Royal Air Force. Middleton visited several charities on behalf of the royal family and earlier this week the St. James’ Palace said that it now considers her a “fully fledged member” of the British monarchy.
