Kristen Stewart will be returning to the big screen in Snow White and the Huntsman this June, with Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2 after that–but what does the actress plan to do after Twilight comes to an end?
According to reports, Stewart is looking to return to her indie roots. The 22-year-old Twilight starlet has signed on to star in “Cali,” an upcoming indie action flick set in Los Angeles that will be produced by Voltage Productions and New School Media.
Kristen will take on the role of “Mya” in the film, one half of a con artist couple with a “penchant for bad choices and dangerous behavior.” The film will see Stewart and her partner deal with all sorts of bizarre situations, from angry former business partners to homicidal porn stars and an “unstoppable killing machine in a cowboy hat.”
“Kristen is a talented and dynamic actor, with a proven box office draw,” producer Craig Flores says. “Her role in ‘Cali’ will be edgy and sexy. It will no doubt push the envelope on the public’s view of Kristen’s wide-ranging abilities. Voltage is thrilled to have her as a partner on this fantastic film.”
Voltage is perhaps best known for producing 2008’s The Hurt Locker, a film about a three-man bomb disposal team set during the Iraq war. The film went on to win six Oscars and was nominated for 9 Academy Awards.
