But to win on Monday, the Dodgers will need to figure out how to beat the Braves’ top pitching prospect, 22-year-old Matt Wisler, who will be making his sixth career start — and first against Los Angeles — since he was called up on June 19, going eight innings in his big league debut to beat the New York Mets.

Considered one of baseball’s Top 100 prospects, Wisler has pitched four solid games out of his five starts so far, faltering only in his second outing when the Washington Nationals bombed the rookie for six runs in just four innings on their way to beating Wisler and the Braves 7-0 on June 25.
Wisler took his first no-decision in his last outing, despite holding the Colorado Rockies to just two runs over six innings in the Rockies home ballpark, Coors Field. Wisler fanned seven, walking three and giving up six hits on July 11. But Atlanta managed only a pair of runs as the Braves lost 3-2.
On Monday, the Dodgers counter with former Brave Brandon Beachy. The 28-year-old, signed by the Dodgers as a free agent before the 2015 season after the Braves declined to tender him a new contract, will be making only his second start of the season after missing all of 2014 thanks to his second Tommy John surgery.
Beachy, who signed with the Braves as an undrafted free agent in 2008 out of Indiana Wesleyan University, lasted just four innings surrendering three runs in his first start back from the surgery, taking the loss as the Dodgers fell to the Milwaukee Brewers 7-1 on July 11.
