Ben Higgins Reacts To ‘Bachelorette’ Kaitlyn Telling Only Shawn She Had Sex With Nick

Ben Higgins’s journey on The Bachelorette ended last week, when Kaitlyn Bristowe chose suitors, Nick Viall and Shawn Booth, over him. However, according to ET, the 26-year-old software salesman will get another chance at finding love as ABC’s next Bachelor.

ET caught up with Ben Higgins following the taping of Monday night’s Bachelorette’s Men Tell All episode to see how he feels about this new role. While nothing has been officially announced by Higgins nor the producers, Ben seems excited about the process, despite his recent heartbreak. The fact that he developed such strong feelings for Kaitlyn on the Bachelorette gives him hope that he can still find the love of his life as The Bachelor.

“Doing this experience, you come in skeptical and you walk out of the experience, I did at least, realizing it’s a very real thing. True emotions do evolve and it does give you the opportunity to meet somebody that you could potentially spend the rest of your life with.”

That hope was further ignited when he ran into the original Bachelorette couple, Trista and Ryan Sutter. The pair has been together for almost 15 years since Trista offered the handsome firefighter her final rose, and have two children.

“I actually ran into Trista and Ryan Sutter this past week. I think seeing them gives me hope that this works.”

Ben H. has made it clear he has no ill feelings toward Kaitlyn Bristowe for how things turned out on the show. He has remained supportive of her, saying she deserves happiness and true love. Many may have wondered how Ben felt when he learned Kaitlyn told Shawn that things went too far, too soon with Nick, but left him in the dark. Ben told ET it was something he just didn’t need to know at the time.

“I respect the fact that she didn’t tell me. I don’t know what it would have done to our relationship and I just didn’t need to know.”

Apparently, Ben Higgins isn’t the only former suitor who continues to respect and support Kaitlyn. ET reports the Bachelorette gets very emotional during the Men Tell All episode, when she opens up about the cyber-bulling and slut-shaming she has faced since admitting to having sex with Nick on the show.

While Kaitlyn was hoping to simply address the bullying and move past it, she was moved to tears when all her suitors stood up to support her against her cyber-bullies.

“I was going to stay strong. And everybody stood up and it just brought me to tears. It was really emotional, and it felt really good to know that everybody stood behind me on that.”

Kaitlyn said sending Ben home “crushed” her, and she “will forever be grateful” she got to meet him, and that he was part of her journey.

Ben Higgins now looks forward to continuing his own journey toward love. He thinks if it is as the next Bachelor, his chances of finding it are pretty good.

“As weird as it is, you as a man, you get 25 women to date and that’s pretty good odds that one of those women is going to be compatible with you.”
