Dead ‘Game Of Thrones’ Stars Assemble In Belfast Ahead of Season 6 Production [Spoilers]

This article contains spoilers about Game of Thrones Season 6.

Game of Thrones is no stranger to shocking and brutal deaths, but Season 5 reached new heights with a series of crushing deaths. First, fan favorite Barristan Selmy died at the hands of the Sons of the Harpy in Mereen. Then Maester Aemon Targaryen’s long watch ended. Even the most hardened Game of Thrones fan shed a tear for the frantic cries of Princess Shereen Baratheon as she became a sacrifice for the Lord of Light and the ambitions of Stannis Baratheon. The finale, “Mother’s Mercy”, trumped all previous episodes by killing not one, but three major characters: Stannis Baratheon, Myrcella Baratheon, and Jon Snow.

Fans have been told many times that there is no saving those characters. They are “deader than dead.” So why are the actors who play them assembling in Belfast just as production is set to begin?

According to Forbes, actor Issac H. Wright, who rejoins Game of Thrones for Season 6 after a season long break, may have given fans the biggest spoiler to date. Wright posted a photograph to his Twitter account of himself, Dean-Charles Chapman, and Nell Tiger Free.

To be fair, the photo was posted, and presumably taken, just before Wright announced that he had arrived in Belfast, so it doesn’t confirm that Myrcella survived being poisoned by the Sand Snakes. Even if Nell Tiger Free does appear in Season 6 of Game of Thrones, it may only be to show Myrcella’s body lying in state, like Charles Dance’s last appearance as Tywin Lannister.

It’s a bit more difficult to explain away Kit Harington.

Fan site Watchers on the Wall reports that Kit Harington was spotted in Belfast. The Jon Snow trademark long hair and beard Harington sported during the Championships at Wimbledon. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Kit Harington was recently cast in Brimstone, a Martin Koolhoven film co-staring Dakota Fanning and fellow Game of Thrones actress Carice van Houten. According to IMDb, Brimstone is set to film in Romania, Germany, and Spain.

Again, it’s worth noting that only Twitter reports of Kit Harington have been posted, so far no one has offered photographic evidence that Harington is in Belfast. However, Harington also hasn’t posted anything to suggest he’s in Romania. In fact, there haven’t been any new photographs of Kit Harington since Wimbledon.

At least one reporter, Vanity Fair’s Joanna Robinson, seems nearly certain that Jon Snow will return, but she won’t say why.
