Dog Stuck In Tire Rim Gets Adopted By The Same Woman Who Helped Rescue It

A stray dog that was badly stuck inside a tire rim in Indianapolis was rescued by a group of firefighters on Friday. According to ABC News, the animal was a stray dog that had somehow managed to get inside a junk tire rim and was unable to get out. Luckily for the dog, a pit bull mix, it was spotted by a woman who decided to help the animal out instead of leaving it to die.

According to the Indianapolis Fire Department, the woman, later identified as 20-year-old Jessica Arnold, walked into a fire station situated in northern Indianapolis with the dog and tire with her. She asked the firefighters to help rescue the distraught animal she had in her car. The firefighters immediately jumped into action and used some of their tools to get the stuck dog safely. The firefighters reportedly utilized specialized tools that are normally used to extricate people from wrecked cars.

Getting the dog unstuck wasn’t an easy task. The firefighters had to use liquid soap as well as oil to help safely get the dog out. The combination was also chosen to ensure that the dog escapes any potential injury. In the end, however, they had to cut open the rim after calling in reinforcements from another fire station. In all, it took the firefighters over an hour to extricate the hapless animal stuck in the tire rim.

During the time of the rescue Jessica, the woman who brought the dog in also tried to keep the animal calm. However, what she did in the end was the most remarkable thing. Instead of leaving the dog alone, she decided to take the stray dog home. Later, Jessica told the firefighters that she has been feeding the dog over the past year and that the animal is known to her. However, until now, she never thought of taking it home. All that changed after the dog’s encounter with an old tire rim.

She has already named her new friend and calls him Jimma.

The Indianapolis Fire Department put up a detailed Facebook post on their page that describes the entire incident in detail. An excerpt from the post confirms that Jimma is now a member of Jessica’s family.

“Indianapolis resident Jessica Arnold has identified herself as the woman who brought Jimma to IFD Station 5. She also stated that Jimma will become a part of her family permanently. Thank you Jessica for allowing us to help Jimma in her time of need. We were happy to do so and are thankful our efforts were successful.”

Last year too, the Inquisitr reported about a puppy that was stuck inside a tire rim in California.
