NBC’s ‘Blindspot’: Everything We Know, Plus Star Jaimie Alexander Talks Tattoos

NBC has officially released its first trailer for the brand new drama Blindspot. The new series will center on a mysterious woman at the center of an FBI investigation who arrives in New York City in a duffle bag after having her memory erased.

The trailer opens with a police officer approaching a large bag in the middle of New York City. The officer calls in the bomb squad, who in turn discover a woman alive inside the bag. The woman has a series of strange tattoos on her body and doesn’t remember who she is or where she came from. The FBI joins the investigation, and soon the hunt is on to find out who the woman is and what she is up to.

According to the synopsis, the mysterious woman, named Jane Doe, had her entire memory erased and has no recollection of how she got in NYC. However, the multiple tattoos on her body seem to point to some answers. The FBI agents use her tattoos to uncover a bigger plot and attempt to find out the truth behind her identity, plus she begins to help the FBI with cases that will serve as a subplot for each episode.

Along with the new Blindspot trailer, it was also announced that Jaimie Alexander, who is known for her role as Sif in Thor, will be playing the main female part in the new drama. Alexander also appeared in a few episodes of ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and will be featured in a main recurring part on HBO’s new comedy The Brink.

Alexander, who is engaged to Twilight and Nurse Jackie star Peter Facinelli, recently talked about her new, mysterious role with Access Hollywood while promoting Blindspot at Comic-Con.

“This is a fast-paced show. It’s not redundant – a lot of procedurals get a little tiring that way,” is how Alexander described the show. “Something crazy happens every episode that skyrockets the storyline.”

And as for the mystery surrounding the tattoos, Jaimie explained that their mystery will start to unravel early in the season.

“Episode 2, you’ll start to figure out something really major with the tattoos,” she teased.

Alexander went on to explain that the goal for the first season is to keep viewers clamoring for more information about Jane Doe and what her tattoos really mean.

“You will know a great deal. From what I’ve been pitched, it’s so interwoven and it’s so not what you expect it kind of blew me away. I’m so excited for this to just get on the air.”

As for getting all of those intricate tattoos on for every episode, Alexander revealed the most uncomfortable place to “wear” her costume.

“Can I say ‘butt crack’? Yeah. That’s fun,” she said. “That’s hand painted, I’ll just let you know.”

Blindspot premieres September 21 at 10 ET/PT on NBC.
