Donald Trump Is Disrupting The GOP Race

Over the next sixteen months, the 2016 Election will headline every newspaper, television show, and podcast from Anchorage to Bangor — mainly featuring Donald Trump. From his stance on immigration reform to his newest war record-bashing of John McCain, this election may provide more theatrics than fifteen years’ worth of Broadway musicals. And that’s just how Trump, who’s been connected to every election since 1988, wants it.

The current field of candidates all share their own opinions on immigration, workforce development, budget cuts, and overseas diplomacy (or the lack thereof). Donald Trump brings his virtually-limitless pocketbook and tough stances to what he believes will be a runaway victory. As of last week, two national polls have him leading the GOP field, well ahead of Governor Christie. While political analysts believe his antics will be short-lived, the issues he’s bringing to light will probably resonate with voters enough to call for sweeping changes in areas other candidates dance gingerly around.

Is Donald Trump running a serious campaign? Probably not, according to one New Jersey news source. However, it’s my firm belief that whatever Mr. Trump is doing wrong is actually perfect for our country’s future. For one, Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman’s brazen escape has called to question our seriousness in approaching immigration and drug cartels, leading to credible threats against Donald Trump. Another major issue is whether or not Obamacare will survive another presidency, which if Trump wins the election, would probably change to a free-market platform. From threats of fining Mexico $100,000 for every illegal immigrant crossing American borders to beefing up Social Security to a more sustainable model, Trump will undoubtedly rake everyone over the hot coals of controversy until the last vote is tallied.

Many former New Hampshire representatives, including Stephen Stepanek and Paula Johnson, endorse Donald Trump. Terrell Owens, the family of one youngster killed by an illegal immigrant, and several notable individuals in positions of power have also signaled their approval. Along the road to final candidacy, it’s pretty clear he’ll rack up many naysayers and critics, but will gain an equal or greater number of supporters ready for someone of Trump’s mental toughness.

Rush Limbaugh backs Trump’s campaign angle, and the ability to handle mass media backlash. The real estate magnate supports strengthening our national defense, but calls Obama’s recent Iranian deal “desperate,” adding that giving billions to Iran but refusing to ask that prisoners get released proves the president is irresponsible where foreign affairs are concerned.

Regardless how the Republican candidacy ends, Donald Trump is disrupting the political fabric — and Americans should be glad.
