‘WWE Battleground 2015’ Pay-Per-View Results — Updated Live!

On Sunday, July 19, 2015, WWE will present WWE Battleground 2015, live at 8 p.m. EST/5 p.m. PST at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri. For those who are unable to attend it live, it will be available for viewing exclusively on the award-winning WWE Network.

However, the Inquisitr understands not everyone in the WWE Universe (or wrestling community in general) will be able to spend three hours to watch WWE Battleground 2015. Therefore, results will be presented live as they become available.

Similar to past WWE pay-per-views, the WWE is providing one courtesy to those who do not have a paid subscription to the WWE Network. One hour before the official pay-per-view, WWE Battleground 2015 Kickoff will take place, which will include a panel of WWE personalities and commentators consisting of Renee Young, Corey Graves, and Byron Saxton, discussing the matches in WWE Battleground 2015.

After that, the WWE Universe will be given a treat, as R-Truth will take on King Barrett in a singles match, a rematch from the WWE Money In The Bank 2015 Kickoff one month earlier. It will take place right before the pay-per-view.

The WWE Battleground 2015 Kickoff can be viewed not only on the WWE Network, but also on WWE’s official website, WWE App, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus, Pheed, and Pinterest one hour before the actual pay-per-view.

Prior to this, the Inquisitr reported on the latest news leading up to WWE Battleground 2015, which may or may not assist in fan predictions on what will take place. Yet, the biggest news pertaining to the pay-per-view is that the legendary Undertaker will be making his return to action.

  • Ryback has suffered an injury prior to the pay-per-view. Unfortunately, he won’t be able to perform at the event.
  • Now that J&J Security is no longer with Seth Rollins, will the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion get new security?
  • Will Brock Lesnar win the title or lose to Seth Rollins?
  • The Legendary Undertaker is rumored to make an appearance at WWE Battleground 2015. Probably the biggest news of the pay-per-view.

Nevertheless, the following match card shown below is what is provided at this moment, and can change for any reason. As mentioned earlier, the Inquisitr will update this article with the latest results as they become available live!

Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt — This is a story match. Bray Wyatt has picked Roman Reigns as the latest wrestler to instill fear in. This actually follows-up from WWE Money In The Bank 2015, when Wyatt interfered in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match by stopping Roman Reigns from attaining the briefcase. This is a new rivalry, ergo the first of three (or four at times) matches to be featured at pay-per-views.

RESULT: Bray Wyatt defeats Roman Reigns via pinfall after Sister Abigail.

Randy Orton vs. Sheamus — Unlike the other matches, this one was built over the course of shows on WWE Monday Night RAW and WWE Smackdown! Sheamus was the one who put Randy Orton on the shelf, and now Orton has a chance at revenge. Will “The Viper” taste satisfaction of vengeance, or will he be denied by “The Great White?”

RESULT: Randy Orton defeats Sheamus via pinfall after the RKO.

Prime Time Players vs. The New Day (WWE Tag Team Championships) — This is a continuation of the rivalry which began back at WWE Elimination Chamber 2015, followed up with WWE Money in the Bank 2015 when the Prime Time Players (Darren Young and Titus O’Neil) were able to defeat The New Day (Big E and Kofi Kingston) to become the champions. Over the course of the month, the Prime Time Players have shown they can handle their own against The New Day. However the third member of The New Day, Xavier Woods, is a wildcard, and may be the deciding factor on if the Prime Time Players retain or lose.

RESULT: Prime Time Players wins when Titus O’Neil defeats Big E via pinfall after the Clash of the Titus to retain the WWE Tag Team Championships.

John Cena vs. Kevin Owens (WWE United States Championship) — In this match, John Cena is at a disadvantage because he has nothing to gain but all to lose, now that Kevin Owens is no longer the NXT Heavyweight Champion. The fact that Owens dropped the title to Finn Bálor at WWE The Beast in the East may be a sign that Owens may, indeed, become the new WWE United States Champion.

RESULT: John Cena defeats Kevin Owens via submission with the STF to retain the WWE United States Championship.

Divas Triple Threat Match — At WWE Battleground 2015, Stephanie McMahon announced the three Divas Stables established on the last WWE Monday Night RAW will pick one member of their respective teams to be represented in a divas triple threat match. This match was probably made on-the-fly to fill in the gap caused by Ryback’s injury and to showcase the NXT divas. As for the representatives, it will be Brie Bella vs. Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte.

RESULT: Charlotte wins the triple threat match via submission when she locked in the Figure Eight on Brie Bella.

Seth Rollins vs. Brock Lesnar (WWE World Heavyweight Championship) — This match suddenly became the most-anticipated match to look forward to since rumors of the Undertaker returning will most-likely happen with this one. Given the fact that Brock Lesnar is the one who snapped The Undertaker’s streak more than two years ago, it is possible the Phenom wants revenge. Ergo, it is possible that The Undertaker will possibly show up in two ways, which may affect the outcome of the match. The first is a distraction for Lesnar, which gives Rollins the opportunity to win and retain. The second is after Lesnar defeats Rollins, setting up a possible title angle. Either way, it will be interesting to see what happens — if anything happens at all.

RESULT: The match was a no contest. As described above, The Undertaker made his presence known and decimated Brock Lesnar.
