WWE News: Backstage Arguments Broke Out Over How To Book NXT Divas Invasion?

Even though the NXT Divas Invasion took place six days ago, the WWE Universe is still buzzing about the debuts of Charlotte, Becky Lynch, and Sasha Banks. In just a 15-minute segment, women’s wrestling became relevant on national television. The aforementioned women took the world by storm in WWE NXT, but WWE Raw or WWE Smackdown had yet to see their dominance.

Judging solely by the reactions of Triple H, Lynch, and Charlotte, it was truly a magical moment for everyone involved and the WWE itself. The debut was immaculate, but what happens after is what the internet wrestling community has been focusing on.

A main concern by a lot of WWE fans is the life span of Lynch, Charlotte, and Banks on the main roster and their relevance to WWE storylines. It’s already known that Triple H is in their corner, which is a great name to have supporting them. Is he the only one?

That question and more was answered by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter and SEScoops.com. Both outlets are reporting that it wasn’t an easy decision as to how the WWE created the NXT Divas Invasion.

“WWE reportedly went back-and-forth in recent weeks over how to bring the group of NXT Divas to the main roster, as well as which Divas to use, so much so that arguments broke out between various members of the creative team.

“The belief is that both Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are invested in this angle and are fully in support of it, so it likely won’t be one of those WWE angles that is quickly forgotten about in a matter of a few weeks.”

There’s a lot more inside this story. Before the WWE NXT Divas Invasion happened, there was talk of just having the WWE NXT women come up and replace the WWE Divas. Wrestlers on Total Divas would’ve stayed, but others couldn’t keep up with the new talent.

Stephanie McMahon, who introduced Sasha Banks, Charlotte, and Becky Lynch, was always involved with their debut. However, there were discussions as to how it could’ve been done, because of her heel persona on WWE TV. Two more ideas included all Four Horsewomen being promoted, and then only two women at once; Charlotte with Banks or Lynch.

Now, seeing as a lot of ideas were scrapped before the finalized plan was in place, the talent WWE just brought up can only go up from here. One blog is calling it the “Ruthless Aggression Divas Era.” Charlotte, Becky Lynch, and Sasha Banks will remain protected by Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, as both executives believe in them. It is a new era in women’s wrestling.
