Zerg Rush: Google It If You Dare


If you’re in the mood for an epic internet battle today, try Googling Zerg Rush.

Google’s latest easter egg sends a barrage of O’s at your search results. Your only hope is to fend them off with your mouse (or your finger if you’re using a touch screen.)

After Googling Zerg Rush, an army og Google O’s descend on your screen. They come from above, the sides, and the bottom. You’ll try to fight them off but ultimately your screen will be overwhelmed with an insurmountable amount of O’s. At the end of the game, Google will give you your score. (Which you can post to Google+)

The Daily Mail reports that the Zergs are one of the races in the game Starcraft and experienced players often use a Zerg Rush to win games. The verb Zerg is now common language in online games.

Maker Blizzard entertainment writes:

“In the distant future, the newly formed Terran Dominion faces the arrival of two hostile alien races: the savage Zerg and the enigmatic Protoss. Gather resources and expand your forces to lead them to victory. The only allies are enemies. The only choice is war.”
