Donald Trump Will Introduce Def Leppard At Iowa State Fair

Rapidly rising in national polls, Donald Trump will be introducing Def Leppard at the Iowa State Fair on August 15, CNN Politics reported. Def Leppard is playing a concert that night that also features Styx and Tesla. The Iowa State Fair is one of the major events held in the state that will cast the first votes of the 2016 race for president early next year. More than one million are expected to attend the Iowa State Fair.

Trump has campaigned twice already in Iowa, where a recent Quinnipiac University poll has him at second place behind Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker. Trump has taken the lead in several national polls this past week in the race for the 2016 GOP nomination for president.

Donald Trump will introduce Def Leppard at the Iowa State Fair Grandstand in Des Moines, Blabbermouth reported. While the media has reported much controversy regarding Trump’s comments about illegal immigrants from Mexico, Trump has continued to surge in he polls. Def Leppard will be releasing a new album, which is expected to be on sale in October of this year.

Def Leppard, one of the most successful rock bands from the United Kingdom, has sold more than 100 million records worldwide since they formed in 1977. They sold more than 10 million copies of their Pyromania album released in 1983 and more than 12 million copies of Hysteria, released in 1987. Def Leppard is one of only rock bands to sell more than 10 million copies of two albums.

Introducing one of the most popular bands in rock music before an expected huge audience of fans will be great exposure for presidential candidate Donald Trump. Given that Trump has been greeted by large crowds at his recent campaign appearances, there may be as many Iowans attending the state fair to see Trump introduce Def Leppard as those showing up to see the concert.

“The Iowa State Fair is the first-in-the-nation caucus state’s signature summer event, and a must-attend for presidential candidates. Candidates from both sides of the aisle flock to the fair, speaking at the Des Moines Register’s Soapbox, flipping pork chops at the National Pork Producers Council’s tent, eating fried food on a stick, or taking a close-up look at the Butter Cow (a life-sized cow carved out of butter),” CNN Politics reported.

Trump has been surging in several national polls, moving into first place, the Inquisitr reported earlier this week. The latest Monmouth University Poll had shown Trump leading with 15 percent to Jeb Bush’s 12 percent. Since then, Trump has also taken leads in national polls conducted by USA Today/Suffolk and Fox News. Trump leads 17 to 14 percent over Bush in the USA Today/Suffolk polls while he led 18 to 14 percent in the Fox News poll.
