Demi Lovato, Wilmer Valderrama Engaged? Demi, 22, Gushes Love For Wilmer, 35, After Dating For Five Years [Video]

Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama engaged — or is it just that the duo are considering the potential of an engagement? Demi dropped some hints about her relationship with Wilmer following their five years of dating, reported Us Weekly.

“I am very, very in love with him,” said Lovato. “I think we’ll probably wait a little bit longer, but if he asked tomorrow, I’d say yes.”

Wilmer is known from his role on That ’70s Show. At 35, Valderrama is 13 years older than Demi, and she confessed that some were shocked when they began dating.

But the 22-year-old Lovato insisted that as they stayed together, their family and friends recognized that they were truly in love.

“I was 18 and he was 30 so people were definitely judgmental and even my parents were kind of, ‘Why is someone his age wanting to date someone so young?’ And after a while everyone around us started to see that what we have was real and incredible and very special, and we’ve been together ever since. Obviously my family loves him [now]. People kind of stop doing that because you can see when we’re together or even just from our Instagrams that we’re very sweet to one another.”

In addition, Wilmer supported Demi during her battles with cutting, eating disorders, addiction, and bipolar disorder. Lovato also received support from the actor while she was in rehab.

As the Inqusitr reported, Demi has been outspoken regarding her struggles.

As the new celebrity spokesperson for the “Be Vocal: Speak Up for Mental Health” campaign, Lovato recognizes that she’s taking a risk in opening up. But the singer emphasizes that by daring to expose her innermost struggles, she hopes that she can help more people.

“I’ve been very open about my story just because that the more honest and open I am, the more people that I’m gonna be able to reach. Mental illnesses, in general, are… not talked about as much as they should,” she said.

And as to the reason why marriage is on her mind? Demi is going to be the bridesmaid in Iggy Azalea’s wedding, reported Entertainment Tonight.

“She’s pretty chill, so I can’t imagine that she’ll be one of those brides that will be super particular,” Lovato said, shrugging off any worries about bridezilla experiences or ugly bridesmaid gowns.

As to the proposal from Valderrama of which Demi is dreaming, she’s actually had a previous marriage proposal. Well, sort of.

Last autumn, an adorable 5-year-old hopped onto the stage and offered Lovato a ring.

“Oh and by the way guys…… I’M ENGAGED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Demi joked on social media.
