WWE News: Major Update On Dolph Ziggler’s WWE Contract Status

There’s been a lot of mystery surrounding Dolph Ziggler’s contract status with WWE over the last couple of weeks. There have been reports that his contract is ending soon, that he hasn’t re-signed, and reports to the contrary. It seems like nobody — with the exception of Ziggler and WWE — really knows what’s going on.

Apparently, Ziggler has re-signed with WWE. On last night’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that Ziggler has signed a new deal with WWE and that he was written off of television not because he’s leaving the company, but because he’s doing a movie for WWE’s movie studio, WWE Films.

Nobody really knows how long Ziggler will be off of WWE television, but when he returns, it’s expected that he’ll seek revenge on Rusev, who was the one who took him out of action in storyline.

Also, judging from this past Monday’s RAW, it looks like Lana won’t be appearing on WWE television while Ziggler — who is her boyfriend in storyline — is out of action.

There’s been no report of how long of an extension Ziggler signed with WWE, but, it’s likely a multi-year deal, and a deal that allows Ziggler to do more stand-up comedy dates, which is something that he has been interested in for quite some time.

When Ziggler was asked about his WWE contract status in an interview several weeks ago, he said that he’s seeking the “right offer” from WWE, which is really what everyone says when their contract comes to an end. But he did mention that he has in interest in doing more stand-up comedy, and if WWE wasn’t going to allow that, then maybe he’d have to go away for a while. It does seem like Ziggler, who is nearly 35, believe it or not, is thinking about life after WWE more now than he ever has.

So, if you’re a Dolph Ziggler fan, you don’t need to worry. He’ll be sticking around for at least the next couple of years. However, you will have to deal with him being off of WWE television for the next couple of weeks while he’s doing his part in the newest WWE Films project.
