Kiptyn Locke’s Baby Arrives: Former ‘Bachelorette’ And ‘Bachelor Pad’ Star Welcomes Baby Boy

This has been quite the week for baby news in the world of “Bachelor Nation.” Kiptyn Locke’s baby boy has been born, the third recent bit of baby news making fans of the franchise and its former contestants swoon. Emily Maynard’s baby, as well as Shayne Lamas’ baby, were born recently as well.

Many Bachelorette and Bachelor Pad fans were a little stunned to learn this past spring that Kiptyn Locke and girlfriend Samm Murphy were expecting their first baby. Us Weekly shared the news of the pregnancy, which came as a bit of a blow to some fans who had still been holding out hope for a fairy tale ending for Locke and fellow Bachelor Pad contestant Tenley Molzahn.

Though Kiptyn and Samm’s romance flew mostly under the radar, Bachelorette fans were thrilled to hear his news. He had indicated previously that he was eager to start a family, and it looks like he’s over-the-moon with his new addition.

Locke shared the first photo of his baby boy via Instagram and shared a loving note titled “My Promise.” He reveals that his son’s name is Koltyn Murphy Locke, and he was seemingly a brand new arrival when the post was made, having been born on Thursday. Kiptyn’s lengthy note to his new son spoke of what he’ll teach little Koltyn and how he promises to give his son unconditional love every day.

Bachelorette fans will remember that Locke was the runner-up on Season 5 with Jillian Harris. Kiptyn went on to participate in Season 1 of Bachelor Pad, and while he didn’t walk away with the money, he did walk away with a relationship with Molzahn.

Kiptyn and Tenley dated on and off from 2010 to 2014, and they have said they’re still close with one another. Tenley is headed back to the franchise’s summer show to look for love again, as she’ll head to Mexico for Season 2 of Bachelor in Paradise. Spoilers tease that she does spend time with one guy in particular, but unfortunately it may not turn into a lasting romance.

Other new arrivals this week for former contestants include a baby boy for former Bachelorette Emily Maynard Johnson and her husband, Tyler Johnson. The happy couple have yet to share the little guy’s name, but he joins Emily’s daughter, Ricki, and it appears that mama and baby are doing well.

Also born recently was a baby boy to former Bachelor winner Shayne Lamas and her husband, Nik Richie. They welcomed Lyon Lamas-Richie on July 4, and the news just made headlines this week. As many will remember, the couple went through a difficult and tragic loss last year when a uterine rupture caused a loss for them last year. Shayne’s stepmother, Shawna Craig, served as a surrogate for them with this pregnancy.
