WWE Rumor: Sting Vs. Bray Wyatt Happening At ‘SummerSlam’?

News broke just about 12 hours ago that both Sting and The Undertaker would be appearing at WWE’s biggest event of the summer, SummerSlam. While it isn’t quite clear what their roles will be, just the fact that both of them will be appearing on the same show has a lot of people excited.

While breaking the news, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer noted that both Undertaker and Sting won’t be surprises at SummerSlam, and it will be made clear several weeks ahead of time that they’ll be on the show, which means one or both may be appearing on an upcoming episode of RAW or maybe even this Sunday’s Battleground show.

The reason why WWE is bringing back both Undertaker and Sting sooner than they had originally planned is because they’re trying to increase their ratings on Monday night, which have been steadily falling over the last couple of weeks.

According to Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline, the original plan was to have Sting take on Bray Wyatt at next year’s WrestleMania, but it appears that those plans have changed, and that Sting may actually be wrestling Wyatt at SummerSlam so he can end up wrestling The Undertaker at WrestleMania.

“I know that there was some talk of doing Sting vs. Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania, but, maybe they won’t wait. Maybe they’ll do that one at SummerSlam. One way or the other, I just think that you’ve got to give poor Sting a win. He’s had one match in WWE, which he lost against Triple H at WrestleMania, and I can’t see why you’d beat the guy again if you want to do anything with him. So, he’s got to wrestle somebody that he can beat.”

Some would argue that Bray Wyatt should beat Sting if the two of them square off because Wyatt is the 28-year-old up-and-comer who has a bright future in WWE, and Sting is a 56-year-old legend who has one foot out the door and probably won’t wrestle again after WrestleMania 32. But, if Sting wrestles The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32, it’s pretty clear that he won’t win that match. If WWE is going to give Sting a win, it will be at SummerSlam against Bray Wyatt if that match ends up happening.

There’s a chance that both Sting and The Undertaker could promote a face-to-face confrontation on WWE television over the next couple of weeks that will take place at SummerSlam, and that’s where Sting will lay down the WrestleMania challenge.
