Design Your Own ‘Dragon Age: Inquisition’ Gear For A Chance To See It Added In A Future DLC Update
Have you ever wanted to create your own accessories in a role-playing game? For those who would like to try designing their own video game items, BioWare is holding a contest to see what gear the Dragon Age: Inquisition community would create if given the opportunity to add a new relic to the game.
In fact, the developer revealed that they will actually take the best ideas and add them to Dragon Age: Inquisition in an upcoming content update. BioWare isn’t just looking for players to simply create as powerful an item as possible, however. Instead, the studio wants fans to follow in their own tradition of lore and storytelling in order to come up with a new Dragon Age: Inquisition artifact that has its own history.
“Whatever your motivation, we want you to create a new accessory for Dragon Age: Inquisition, along with an interesting name and backstory for it. Make it funny, make it mysterious, make it sad, but above all else, make sure it affects gameplay in an interesting and unique way. Whether it’s high risk/high reward or encourages nonstandard min-maxing, we want items that will get your fellow Inquisitors thinking about how they play in new ways.”
In addition to adding life to their accessory, BioWare also wants fans to allocate real in-game states to their relic designs. To help players out, the developer has compiled a list of all possible affixes that can be applied to their custom Dragon Age: Inquisition gear. From their own official Twitter account, BioWare provided an example of an item that was designed using these rules.

The relic contest will remain open for submissions from now until Monday, July 20. Three winners will be chosen from all of the entries to be added to the game in future Dragon Age: Inquisition DLC. The creators of the selected item designs will also receive a Dragon Age prize pack.
“Entries will be judged for their creativity, originality, appropriateness to the topic, and how they impact gameplay.”
Besides giving the Dragon Age: Inquisition community the chance to add new content to the game, BioWare is currently working on the title’s next official story DLC. According to Dragon Age: Inquisition executive producer Mark Darrah, the next campaign-driven add-on will expand upon the stories surrounding some of the game’s NPC companions. Darrah also confirmed that while the DLC will provide additional lore and backstory, it won’t revolve around Dragon Age: Inquisition’s main storyline of Corypheus.
