Man Who Kidnapped And Murdered April Jones, 5, Believes He Is Haunted By Her Ghost In Prison
The man who kidnapped and murdered 5-year-old April Jones three years ago believes that he is being haunted by her ghost in his prison cell, according to the Daily Mirror.
While riding her bicycle on October 1, 2012, in Machynlleth, Powys, April was abducted by 48-year-old pedophile Mark Bridger, who rented a cottage in the neighborhood. Her parents reported her missing, but sometime later, U.K. police discovered April’s bone fragments in his fireplace as well as her blood.

Bridger was charged with her murder, and although April’s body was never fully recovered, he was found guilty after a month-long trial in April of 2013. April’s parents, Paul and Coral Jones, proceeded with her funeral after receiving only her bone fragments, and have come to terms that they may never know how their little girl was murdered.
Bridger’s story constantly shifted with each person who questioned him about the incident.
“He stated he had run over a young girl called April Jones by accident and killed her, but that the police had not believed him and he had been charged with her murder,” said Bridger’s cellmate, who he confided in.
“Bridger was adamant there was no sexual assault.” Bridger’s cellmate – who requested to remain anonymous – came forward with information after he was released from prison last year.
“I was shocked by this because he was quite happy to tell me he had killed her but seemed desperate to stress there was nothing sexual involved,” he continued.
“Bridger then mentioned to me that there was blood in his house he had tried to clean up. He also mentioned at one point he ran up to the bathroom to be sick.”

He later told a priest that he discarded her body in a river, but investigators have yet to come across her body.
Now two years after killing the child, Bridger claims the ghost of April Jones continues to haunt him in his prison cell.
“He told me he [Bridger] thinks he has been visited by a ghost at night. He believes this ghost to be that of April Jones, who is brought to him by another male ghost,” said Bridger’s cellmate.
“When he has told me about the ghosts, Bridger has been visibly upset.”
Mark Bridger, 48, a former abattoir worker, kidnapped April in Machynlleth, Powys, before murdering her and dumping her body in October 2012. He is currently serving a life sentenced at Wakefield prison.
