Lindsey Vonn Stuns In Scarlet at ESPY Awards [Video]

Scarlet is a good color for Lindsey Vonn, who appeared at the ESPY awards in a cherry-red frock that not only hugged her athletic figure, but showed off her toned legs as well with an eye-popping slit in the scarlet dress that ran up to her hip.

Vonn was nominated in the Best Comeback Athlete category, which also included New England Patriots’ Rob Gronkowski, New York Yankees’ Alex Rodriguez, and Chicago Bulls’ Derrick Rose, reports the Daily Mail. Lindsey was the only female nominated for Best Comeback Athlete, but Gronkowski won the award.

Although she’s the most decorated skier of all time, winning her record-breaking 63rd World Cup race in January, Vonn had to bounce back from two knee injuries that threatened to destroy her career.

Lindsey Vonn also showed off the scarlet gown when she joined Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman to present the Best Breakthrough Athlete Award.

At the ESPY awards, Entertainment Tonight caught up with Lindsey about her split with pro golfer, Tiger Woods. The pair broke up two months ago, but apparently they’re still talking.

“I’ve texted him a little bit, but we haven’t been in touch too much,” Vonn revealed to Entertainment Tonight after talking about the scarlet dress at the event. “He seems like he’s doing well.”

When asked if she’ll watch him in the British Open, Lindsey Vonn replied, “Yeah, I definitely want to [see him play],” and even though Woods hasn’t been doing so well, she thinks he’ll be able to pull off a win at The British Open: “[His] last tournament was a little better so hopefully things go well for him this week.”

The pair recently split after a three-year relationship, which Lindsey Vonn revealed in an official statement, according to Us Weekly.

In that statement, Vonn wrote, “After nearly three years together, Tiger and I have mutually decided to end our relationship. I will always cherish the memories that we’ve created together. Unfortunately, we both lead incredibly hectic lives that force us to spend a majority of our time apart. I will always admire and respect Tiger. He and his beautiful family will always hold a special place in my heart.”

Woods posted a similar statement about his relationship with Lindsey Vonn on his website, reports Entertainment Tonight: “Lindsey and I have mutually decided to stop dating. I have great admiration, respect and love for Lindsey and I’ll always cherish our time together…Unfortunately, we lead very hectic lives and are both competing in demanding sports. It’s difficult to spend time together.”

Even though Lindsey and Tiger are still communicating, Woods was noticeably missing from the ESPY awards. Vonn’s scarlet dress stole the show at the awards, even though Lindsey walked away empty handed.
