Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner Reportedly Preparing For Custody Battle

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are reportedly at odds when it comes to the child custody.

Radar Online reports that the former Daredevil co-stars are preparing for a battle for the custody of their three children – 9-year-old Violet, 6-year-old Seraphina, and 3-year-old Samuel.

According to the report, an inside source opened up about the brewing battle, including the opposite sides of the custody fence on which the former spouses stand.

“[Ben Affleck] wants joint legal and physical custody — he doesn’t want to let Jen take the kids away from him. But those kids are Jen’s main priority and she wants sole physical custody. It’s turning into a bitter fight.”

The insider further claimed that Jennifer Garner does not trust the Batman v Superman star to take care of their children for an extended period of time.

“Ben can go to some dark places and Jen doesn’t want the kids to be around him when he’s like that. And she doesn’t trust him to take care of them for an extended period of time.”

Even though he has not been the best father over the years, according to the insider, Ben’s children mean everything to him, which is why he is reportedly not giving up without a fight.

The report claims that Ben Affleck is taking his lawyer’s advice to spend as much time with his kids as possible to “show that he’s responsible and involved in his children’s everyday lives.”

Jennifer Garner opened up about her co-parenting with Ben in an interview with Us Weekly back in May.

“We’re so involved. I just took a year and a half off of work and I’ve been home. You treat them like real kids. They have boundaries and they have rules and they throw fits.”

Garner stated that she strives to maintain a consistent presence in her kid’s lives. Even when she is not there, she reportedly keeps in contact with her children by leaving notes in their lunches.

“If I leave town for work, I always leave them a note for their lunch for every day that I’m gone. I was just gone last week. I’m shooting a movie in Montreal and I was gone for three days and I came home and the kids were like, ‘This week’s lunch notes were really great mom!'”

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner became husband and wife on June 29, 2005, during a private ceremony held at a resort on the Turks and Caicos Islands.
