‘Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End’ A Must Buy For PlayStation 4 And ‘Uncharted’ Fans

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End blew everyone’s minds, PlayStation 4 users and not, when it released at the E3 this year its new trailer, IGN reports. But with three great Uncharted classics behind it, the upcoming Uncharted 4 game for PlayStation 4 has a lot to live up to, since it was hyped up by game critics and fans.

Co-lead designer of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End Anthony Newman talks to Wil Wheaton on how Uncharted 4 was able to utilize the power of PlayStation 4 to bring the best of graphics and gameplay to PlayStation 4 fans out there.

“We’re actually doing real-time cutscenes in Uncharted 4, which is a new step for us. You’re not going to see those black bars that we used to have in between gameplay and cutscenes. That’s going to let us be so much more expressive and really get that seamlessness between the storytelling and the gameplay. Which we already do very well, but it’s going to allow us to take it to that next level.”

This is actually quite revolutionary, not only for Uncharted but also for the PlayStation 4 platform, since not a lot of games go through the trouble of these minute details to give the user the best PlayStation experience. Newman adds that behind achieving this almost-perfect transition is their effort to recreate the “super good-looking” Nathan Drake from the cutscenes to the gameplay itself via utilizing powerful graphics, shading, and lighting.

Lazy Gamer also draws attention to the brilliant execution of physics in Uncharted 4 for PlayStation 4, as seen at their E3 demo. From the miniscule object physics details to the large-scale jeep chases, Uncharted 4 looks like it is serious about making itself as real as possible—which is, of course, only thanks to the power of the PlayStation 4.

Uncharted 4 even received praise and awards from its E3 performance.

Euro Gamer writes that a lot of critics are confident with Uncharted 4 to deliver since the PlayStation 4 is very capable of handling ambitious projects like this. Uncharted 4 will be running at 60fps, a concession that Naughty Dog explains is necessary to maintain the ambitious nature of the game.

“PlayStation 4 is adept in handling everything Uncharted 4 throws at it, from the on-foot shoot-outs with heavy physics to streaming in new terrain during the car chase. By conceding to a 30fps lock the team is at least able to go all out with this set-piece; a preference compared to a theoretical 60fps that just can’t be sustained.”

Critics who have seen Uncharted 4 work with PlayStation 4 up close attest to how ambitious Uncharted 4 is, but stays positive that with the genius of Naughty Dog and the power of the PlayStation 4, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will deliver. As of the tests and previews of Uncharted 4 on PlayStation 4 released to date, Uncharted 4 remains to be one of the top titles in PlayStation 4 in terms of graphics, physics, technology, and innovation.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End for PlayStation 4 still doesn’t have a set release date, but it is pegged to release commercially in Spring, 2016. Meanwhile, you can satiate your Uncharted hunger with the Uncharted collection remastered for PlayStation 4 to release October this year.
