WWE News: WWE Legend The Undertaker Scheduled For ‘WWE RAW’ Next Week

WWE RAW has had several weeks of lower ratings than they would like. It is the summer, and RAW was going against many big sporting events, such as the USWST games and most recently, MLB’s Home Run Derby — both of which drew incredible ratings. It is not a shock that WWE RAW had issues against them. One would assume that once they do not have direct competition like this, they will end up doing normal 3.0 ratings.

WWE does not want to take any chances, however. They are pulling out every trick in the book, and for good reason.

According to the Wrestling Observer, WWE plans to bring back The Undertaker next week on WWE RAW. There is some word going around that Taker could appear at WWE Battleground in some capacity. On top of this, both Undertaker and Sting are set to appear at WWE SummerSlam at the end of August. In fact, WWE has already filmed a commercial in advance for the event involving The Undertaker. WWE would never spoil the return of The Undertaker, so it makes a lot of sense that he would appear on WWE RAW in the setup for WWE SummerSlam next month.

It also makes sense to think he could make a surprise return at WWE Battleground, which would surely help WWE Network numbers in yet another free month for new subscribers.

On top of this, Undertaker is set to be at the Wizard World Comic-Con on August 20. Sting is also set for the event sometime between Thursday and Saturday.

WM30 Lesnar Taker

Undertaker will be back on RAW next week for the first time in well over a year, which every fan is going to be cool with. If he appears at Battleground as rumored, his RAW return will most likely have to do with what went down at the PPV.

There is a lot of speculation that WWE could have The Undertaker return to take out Brock Lesnar, which would allow Seth Rollins to retain his WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

The WWE RAW mention of The Undertaker by Paul Heyman was no random coincidence, it seems. Undertaker has unfinished business with The Beast Incarnate for taking away his WrestleMania win streak at WrestleMania 30 in 2014.

This is the first time in years that Undertaker will work a WWE SummerSlam event, but it makes total sense that he would be involved.

Many believe this is Undertaker’s last year with WWE. That means his retirement match very well could be at WrestleMania 32, which happens to be in his home state of Texas. We know WWE won’t have him face Lesnar in his last match, so why not have Undertaker get some revenge on Lesnar earlier on to get the revenge story out of the way?

Plus, what a big night WWE SummerSlam would be if WWE had the ability to schedule Brock Lesnar vs The Undertaker at the main event. WWE is already looking to improve ratings, and this would be an ideal way to do so. The wildcard in all of this is Sting, however. WWE is bringing him back, which is cool to see. However, what will his role be? On top of that, will he also join The Undertaker on the post-Battleground WWE RAW? There is a big chance he does.
