Zsa Zsa Gabor’s Husband Fighting Daughter For Control Over Estate

Zsa Zsa Gabor’s husband, Frederic Prinz Von Anhalt, has picked up the fight against stepdaughter Francesca Hilton for conservatorship of the actress and her financial affairs.

Last month, Hilton’s attorney filed a request for an independent conservator handle 95 year old Gabor’s affairs, instead of Von Anhalt. According to a statement the lawyer made to KABC Television:

“We are just seeking to bring her finances and healthcare out in the open, so to speak, within the confines of a conservatorship proceeding, so that independent third parties will determine that she is getting the best care she can.”

A formal objection was filed by Von Anhalt earlier this week with the Superior Court of Los Angeles, claiming that his stepdaughter is the last person who should have conservatorship based on ” past conduct,” which includes an alleged assault on Von Anhalt.

He goes on to blame Hilton for the financial problems of the actress’s estates, claiming he does everything he can to care for Gabor, including hiring help and “prudently” monitoring finances.

The home, which was originally purchased in Gabor’s name, is in default with $85,000 owed on the mortgage. Von Anhalt had borrowed $700,000 to pay for it, which he admits, but says she is to blame for the default because she refinanced the home loan several years ago.

His plans are to sell the house to pay off his wife’s debts, which total $30,000.

Hilton claimed during visits with Gabor during her treatments at her home that her mother seemed heavily sedated, and that Von Anhalt restricted their communication. He denies any such claims.

A hearing is set for May 2.
