Katherine And Sheila Lyon Details: Authorities To Release New Details In 40-Year-Old Lyon Case

New Katherine and Sheila Lyon details have emerged after the two went missing 40 years ago. Authorities now say that they intend to share these new details with the public in a press conference on Wednesday. According to the Canada Journal, the two sisters, 10-year-old Katherine Lyon and her 12-year-old sister, Sheila, went missing back in 1975. With little information about what happened to the young girls, police haven’t been able to solve this mystery… but that could change.

The report claims that there is a Maryland woman that lied to a grand jury during questioning concerning this case, and they have named her husband and his nephew as persons of interest. The woman is the only person who has been charged.

Katherine and Sheila Lyon details could change this case and potentially provide answers that so many have had over the past four decades. According to Fox News, a special grand jury has been investigating this case since October, and it sounds like they may have new information that could lead to an arrest.

Over the past several months, authorities have been spending a considerable amount of time searching the Taylor’s Mountain area in Thaxton, Virginia, trying to uncover remains, but they have had no success thus far.

“When you have an operation of this nature, one of the things you have to keep in mind is what your mission is. You have to maintain mission focus and our mission focus is to bring these children home if at all possible. This case will be resolved,” said Bedford County Commonwealth’s Attorney Randy Krantz.

The new Katherine and Sheila Lyon details could make or break this case. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, there was some speculation that the case was going to be closed back in March. Many hope that the new information shared today will provide answers, and someone (at least one person) will be held accountable for the disappearance of the Lyon sisters.

“The investigation into the Lyons sisters disappearance is ongoing, but it appears that police are getting closer to filing some sort of charges on members of the Welch family.”

The press conference is scheduled for noon today. The information that is going to be shared is expected to shine some major light on this case. While it is unlikely that the girls’ remains have been found (this would have likely already been reported), many hope that charges will be filed.
