Woman Arrested For Slapping Her Boyfriend Across The Face

A woman arrested on domestic battery charges allegedly slapped her boyfriend across the face after discovering he was watching pornography.

According to a Pinellas County Sheriff’s Department crime report posted on the Smoking Gun website, the 29-year-old woman woke up her live-in boyfriend by smacking him across the face.

The following is what was actually written on the Pinellas County, Florida, arrest affidavit.

“Delia Priem was upset that she found Anthony watching porn, after videoing him and discovering he was still watching porn after he said he would stop. Delia woke Anthony up with a slap to the face, and pushed him in his bed. Delia then proceeded to thrown items around the room, but none were said to hit Anthony.”

Additionally, the woman arrested, Delia Marie Priem, exhibited indications of alcohol influence during the attack, according to the police report.

A WebMD article addresses the issue of why men like watching pornography.

Russell Stambaugh, PhD., an Ann Arbor, Michigan-based psychologist and sex therapist, commented about the issue of partners and pornography.

“Often, one partner has a porn interest, and the other thinks that’s a problem. It rarely is. The best studies suggest that only about 5 percent of porn users have a problem that interferes with their daily life.”

San Francisco sex therapist Lonnie Barbach, PhD. adds more on the subject.

“Some women feel threatened because they don’t think they’re as sexy as a porn star. But it’s not about what he’s not getting at home. It’s the novelty. It’s a turn-on.”

So, why do men feel the need to watch porn? Well, according to health experts, this is a hard question to answer.

Nonetheless, WebMD offers some theoretical insight that may be beneficial to those concerned.

“Porn-induced arousal has been linked to many parts of the brain. One recent theory holds that mirror neurons, brain cells that fire when an action is performed as well as when it’s observed, play an important role in male arousal. But knowing what’s fired up by porn doesn’t tell us why our brains get turned on.”

WebMD adds Dr. Stambaugh’s suggestion that evolution plays a part in why men are likely to watch porn.

“Men’s brains, he says, are hard-wired for easy arousal, so that men are ready for sex whenever opportunity knocks — a propagation-of-the-species thing. With online porn so readily at hand, vicarious opportunities cue the mirror neurons are ever present. More often, the problem is how you talk and how you reveal yourself to each other.”

No doubt, Delia Marie Priem does not accept the idea of her partner watching porn. In addition, some may find it ironic and question whether the woman should have been arrested.

Nevertheless, Delia was held under arrest for about 12 hours before eventually being released.
