Rachel McAdams Keeps Coy About New Relationship With Taylor Kitsch

It was reported only a few days ago that Rachel McAdams and Taylor Kitsch are an item. Rumors of their attraction towards each other started to swirl once the second season of True Detective started.

Entertainment Tonight caught up with the actress, who was promoting her new film Southpaw, to discuss whether or not she’s dating her True Detective co-star. As suspected, McAdams was pretty coy about the whole thing. Barely giving ET anything to work with, Rachel said, “It’s funny that the Internet likes to proclaim.”

She also noted that the Internet is a “weird little thing.” She might be talking about how vocal people become when they decide to jump on board with a relationship that they support. So what does the internet call this maybe couple? McKitsch, of course. Still not as glorious sounding as McGosling, but it’ll do.

So, going by what McAdams said, we shouldn’t rely on chummy pictures of two actors for proof of anything. The two were spotted back in June having a dinner together at Osteria Mozza in West Hollywood, which is when rumors really started up.

“[It’s the] weird, weird, bizarre, surreal side of it but I guess you just have to laugh at it at a certain point.”

Then again, she wasn’t exactly denying dating Taylor Kitsch, either. McAdams did admit that the two have been friends “for years.” As for sources that confirm, McAdams is just laughing it off. “I’m like, ‘Who are these people?’ How did they confirm that? I find it really confusing, but yeah, it’s an odd little thing.”

As the Inquisitr reported, a source told Us Weekly that “the two have been friends for years” and that they “grew close” while filming the show. McAdams may be staying low because it hasn’t been very long. That said, the source confirms that, “it’s serious.”

Prior to that, there were rumors that Rachel McAdams was dating her Southpaw costar, Jake Gyllenhaal. Before that, she was in a serious relationship with Masters of Sex’ Michael Sheen, who is now dating Sarah Silverman.

As for her working experience on True Detective, McAdams had a ton of praise to shell out. “We had a little bit of a safety net in that it’s completely different characters and a totally different story. I think [creator] Nic [Pizzolato] is doing something unique again with this season [being] different from the last. Of course, there’s going to be comparisons and of course, you want it to be just as good but I think it’s a different beast this year.”
